Please explain the menu changes for Le Cellier.

Finally got reservations there and I'm reading a lot about how the menu has completely changed and people aren't happy.

What's the difference now with the food choices? What can we expect when we go for dinner in September?

Thanks.

They still have some of the same things, but the main thing is they took away the Maple BBQ filet, which was a favorite among many, including me!

If you have never been, you wont miss anything. They did a menu change, like most places do 1 or 2 times a year. The food is still good, just changed a little! The vegetarian entree changes 2 or 3 times a year. Right now its mushroom based, I hope it changes....

They used to have a nice Filet Mignon, but now it is a mushroom (eeeeww for me) steak.

Plus they dropped their signature dessert the chocolate "Moose."

Those are both things I ordered last time that just a quick glance at the menu that is missing.

We ate there on Monday for lunch and I have to tell you that it was our favorite meal of the trip! After reading the menu changes, we considering canceling the reservation but decided we would try it anyway. We both had the Mushroom filet mignon and I don't like mushrooms, but this was one of the best steaks I have ever had. I substituted the risotto with cheesy mashed potatoes and the potatoes were delicious and my husband loved the risotto. I would keep the reservation, it was so good!

I'm so glad to hear you were able to get any kind of mashed potato at lunch time. DD loves mashed potato and that was her big concern with the barbecue filet going away. She knew she could order the mushroom filet plain but did want roasted potato or risotto - she wants mashed!

To the OP - if you have never been I don't think the menu change will matter. You won't be missing an old favorite like DD and her maple filet. I love the mushroom filet so I am not concerned at all about the menu change. Now if they took away the cheese soup or the breadsticks it might be a different story!
