Explain it to me like I'm 5: FPP and App Refreshing

I think the refresh theory will work for quite a while. Changes to peoples plans are made all the time. Additionally, Disboards and other Disney boards that discuss it are a very small percentage of the population who goes to WDW. I was listening to some people talkign in a line the last time I was there and they were saying "oh there are no more FPs for X rides so we can do other stuff since we wont get FPs". I was not about to tell them how to use refresh to get more FPs. Its not a very widely known practice and does require patience and work on your part to do it.

I just ran a "test" on my computer. Today at Animal Kingdom..ON first view, No FPs for FoP, Navi, or safari..Everest and DInosaurs only FPs were afternoon. Within 3 or 4 refreshes..Dinosaur at 945, Everest at 1005. A few more, Navi at 1230, Safari at 1030, 1145, and 1215..And after about 50 refreshes..FoP for 325

I just did it too for today and Soarin was first in the 7pm hour, refreshed twice, went down to 9:15am.

I was talking to a customer of the bank I work for and she went to Disney without one FP because she had no idea about it at all. Yikes!

I've been to Disney 9 times times starting in 2006 and am very familiar with the FP system, but never used the refresh tactic. We are going first week of September, party of 4. I'm going to try refreshing this year. Are you guys refreshing looking for one FP, grabbing it and then modifing to add the other 3 FP's?

Has anyone had luck with SDD on the day of? That is the only ride we could not get a FP for. We are staying off site this time and there are EMH every morning, so we will be walking into an already long line at the official park opening.

Refreshing is typically done once you've used your first 3 FP's to add 4th and beyond. It can be used ahead of time in modifying your existing FP's as well but there won't be nearly the same amount of movement in FP's.

The problem with a group of 10 is that the system is working in real time as people change or modify their FP's, so it is a lot less likely someone is going to drop 10 or more FP's at once. The advice I've seen is to break the group up and try refreshing with smaller numbers; you can aim for close or overlapping times. I've never tried for that many, I just know from reading that the fewer in your search, the more likely you'll find something.

Anyone have luck refreshing with a group of 10?

You will have a very tough time with a group of 10, except for things like Nemo, Tough to be a Bug, or Muppets...i.e. things that don't normally need one anyway. Break them up into groups of 3 or 4.

Yes! The night before, after park closing. People change their plans for the next day. Also try the morning of, especially prior to park open.

Thank you will do!
