Okay, so here's the deal. We are heading to the DW in February. Staying on property and hoping for a discount to come out. But I need someone to break down the upgrade to AP after we have entered the park. How does it work, do I need to purchase a certain amount of park days? We are already planning for 7 park days.

But....We may head back in June to Orlando for the summer as this is what we did this year. But we did the Sesame Place AP upgrade for all parks and used the heck out of Sea World and Aquatica. So, how much would it be to upgrade and how do I figure it out?

I just did this last trip!

I was there with a 5 day park hopper. I am going back in March with my mom, I would need 5 days there as well.

It was $387 for each park hopper = $774.
AP including tax was $670-something (or close to it) if I remember correctly.

I went to the Epcot guest relations center on my last day. I was unsure if I should do it, but I decided to. They just got some basic info from me. They charged me the difference from my 5 day park hopper that I had already paid for, and the annual pass.

The first day I used my park hopper was 9/13/14. My annual pass expires 9/13/15.

To figure out the cost..

I would take the cost of your ticket for your upcoming trip, and add the cost of your ticket for your next trip.

Take the cost of the annual pass, and compare the difference.

I believe the break-even mark is around 10 or 11 park days.

Unless the tickets you are upgrading were purchased at a lower retail value than the rate when you go, you won't need to enter a park before upgrading to AP. The reason people activate passes before upgrading is to get the value of current pricing credited to the price of the AP.
