Expiring points

If I have banked points from 2016 that are going to expire - say a June UY. If I were to book a trip in May and cancel it within 30 days of the reservation what happens to my points?

Does the holding period of 60 days still apply? Meaning I have until July/August to use them.

Or do they simply expire come June 1.

They expire end of May, no loop hole. the 60 days if the booking window not the expiration time frame. The expiration will remain end of May.

Holding only means you cannot use them to book more than 60 days out. If they expire on May 31, they expire on May 31. No matter what.
