Expiring Points

I think I know the answer but double checking.

I just bought a Resale contract and there are 99 points expiring on July 31 2014. Do I have to use them (have the vacation accommodations done) before that date or can I have something booked before that date but for a later date (say October)?

I am going with the have the vacation completed by July 31 2014. but just making sure.

The reservation would need to have a check-out date on or before 8/1/2014.

Call MS and explain to them your situation and ask them nicely is there anyway that you can do a one time banking on these points. Sometimes
they will do this.

Since this is a resale purchase by the OP, I suspect that those expiring points are already banked.
