Expiring Points Confusion

Ok, so I thought I understood banking points. We just bought our DVC points and got 160 pts that we banked for 2014 (Feb UY). I thought that we had from Feb 2014 - Jan 2015 to use the points.

When I made a reservation tonight for next spring (first reservation as DVC members!) the website stated that some of my points will expire if not used for travel by oct 16, 2014 / Banked 160. I wasn't planning on using the points until late Oct! I'm really confused and would love to know what's going on I could obviously have this all wrong, but am hoping someone can point me in the right direction!

Points always expire at the end of the month, October 16 doesn't make sense. With a February use year, your points will always expire on January 31.

Ok thanks... I think I need to make a call and figure out why it is giving me this date! I didn't want to call and waste the CM's time if that was standard.

I think that is a glitch because I just got the same message. I was using points that expire Feb 28, 2014 and it also said some will expire Oct 16, 2014.
