We have a 16 day trip planned for the end of May. We have APs that will expire the day before our trip starts so we plan to renew them when we arrive. We will be using unused tickets we got as part of a package last year to apply toward the cost of the upgrade so our only option is to renew at guest services.

Will we be able to prebook our FP+ options even though our APs expire before our trip starts or will we have to wait until we renew our APs to book FP+? We have linked our existing APs to MDE.

As a side note: Will a sticky for FP+ be created soon? It is crazy trying to weed through all the FP+ threads to see if your question has already been answered before asking it.

Try using in your current AP in MDE and see what it allows at the 60-day mark.

when I try it says:

"You may begin making FastPass+ selections for your vacation on March 30, 2014".

As another side note this is the first trip we have taken that requires Magic Bands. We managed to avoid it last September.

Sounds good,
but the proof will be if it, in fact, WILL let you do so on March 30.

My AP expired January 1st. I had used the magic bands in November, so I could continue to make FP+ reservations using my AP after my November trip. I could no longer make any FP+ reservations for the period after my AP expired on January 1st.

We are going in March, and using 7 day tickets that I purchased a couple of years ago, and upgrading to AP's once we get to Disney. I linked the 7 day tickets to MDE and it allowed me to make 7 days of FP+ reservations, even though our trip is onsite and longer than 7 days.

Once my AP expired, it showed as such in MDE - I am betting that yours will too. You can link the tickets that you are using to upgrade to AP's to your MDE and make FP+ reservations for the number of days that your tickets are good for.

So the tickets we have to use for our upgrade are just two day tickets. I guess that means that we will only be able to make 2 days of FP+ ressies?

Correct. I have the same issue, but luckily we have 6 day tickets we are upgrading so it won't be too bad.

I just went through this same scenario. Our AP's expire the second day of our trip. When I started booking our FP+'s, I could only do so until the day the passes expired. So I renewed the AP's. Only once I did so, could I book FP+'s throughout the remainder of our tip.

So I think I am going to go ahead and renew our APs at the 60 day mark and just continue to save the two day tickets for something else.
