Our APs expired on December 13. I understand I can renew until January 13. We won't make another trip to WDW until after that. How is this done if you renew online? Do you get some sort of a voucher print-out that you then take to Guest Services to obtain an actual pass? TIA

You get your renewal the same way you bought your original passes. You go to Downtown Disney and show them your old pass, tell them you want to renew your annual pass and they will charge you at the renewal cost. Even if you don't have the old ones, i am pretty sure all they need is your name and maybe verify your address or something to look up the info on their systems.

How is the OP supposed to get to Downtown Disney if he's not going to be there? Renewals have to be done within 30 days of the end date of your previous AP.

OP - you will have to do it online on the AP site and I believe they will send a voucher or you might be able to do will-call at the parks. But yes you need to do it before 30 days to get the renewal price. Keep in mind if you're not going for a number of months, it might make more sense not to renew but just get a new AP on arrival (since the renewal AP starts on the day after your original one expired so there is no lapse in dates).

And no the 15 month offer expired - it will just be a straight 12 months for APs or renewals.

I have used will call and printed out a confirmation to use when I don't want to pay the shipping for a voucher. I always debate about whether I should renew or wait to get a new AP. It usually depends on how many months with go by without me visiting WDW.

The magic window for us and doing the math for our family seems to be about 90 days. If we're going within 90 days of expiration anyway, we renew. If not, we buy new when we get there (or online through the DVC link).

I'm trying to decide on whether or not to renew myself. Our AP's expire a few days before DS's 10th b'day! Right now, we are booked for a Spring Break trip(and I don't have another trip planned:scared1:, but we'll probably go around Xmas time), but we may cancel because we just went in Dec and are going for my b'day next weekend! So, if we go for Spring Break I will renew, if not it will be all adult AP's next time! :sad2:

I can't remember, can you re-up through Member Services and just pick them up at will call?

Our APs expire on April 15. We aren't going until July with a second trip in October. That is our typical schedule. My thinking is that renewal makes sense. Am I right?

Cheshire Figment - resident DIS ticket guru - says if you aren't going to use the APs for 3 months after expiration, you're better off to just pay for new ones not renew. I think there's a math calculation behind that, but I don't remember what it is nor do I feel like figuring it out!

Oops - looks like I echoed Wilson Flyer above!

When you renew an AP you have 30 days after it expires to renew, say your Dec 13 expiration can be renewed up until Jan 13, but the renewal will expire on Dec 13 of the next year. Expiration is always the day you buy the first AP. You will not gain a month.
Hope this is helpful.
