Glasses…..so many of us have to wear them. If you’re someone that doesn’t need them - good for you and I’m jealous - LOL!

As we all know, there’s different types of lense to help us with our different needs. There’s single vision, bifocals and trifocals - there’s a picture below ⬇️ to show how they help people. Many times, we start off with single vision and then as our eyes get older we need to go to the others lense. So, put your glasses on and let us know what type they are…….

Do you wear glasses?
If yes…..what type of lense do you have?
Now tell us…..if you think you need another type of lense?
(multiple choice)

For Me…….I wear single vision lense glasses, but I know that I definitely need bifocals and I honestly think I need trifocals. About 3 years ago I tried wearing bifocals and I couldn’t do it - they gave me a headache and I felt woozy in the head - kinda like I was sea sick. I tried for a couple weeks and I just couldn’t do it. I honestly think that I now need trifocals for a variety of reasons and I can’t even imagine how I’ll feel with those. I haven’t been to the eye doctor for a few years and I need to go, it’s time.

I have developed my own system for seeing. I am nearsighted. I am thinking it's about -1.50 IIRC. I see just fine up close. However, I cannot see anything up close through my glasses lenses. I just wear my glasses on top of my head. I pull them down to see far off, and leave them up to see up close. At home I usually just leave a pair of glasses in different rooms so I can grab them as needed :rotfl2:

My “regular” glasses are bifocal for distance and reading. I have a separate pair of glasses for the computer.

I’ve have horrible eyesight have since I was a kid and it’s only getting worse I feel I need a magnifying glass just strap it right to my head!! Sadly I have macular degeneration so that’s not helping anything! You just can’t get enough strong eyeglasses on my eyes so I can see well - often times I do better if I just take the glasses off hold the paper right up to my eyeballs it just all depends on what I’m looking at but for me to walk around without any eyeglasses I wouldn’t even be able to see anything I’m that blind so yes I require glasses and yes I require bifocals and yes I do use a magnifying glass a lot

I require glasses to read, that’s it. So, most of the time,I don’t wear glasses. I do have a pair of sunglasses that I wear when reading in the sun, but I couldn’t walk in them, they are bifocals.

I believe my current glasses are technically bifocals, but they're the no-line bifocals which my optometrist said were "kind of like trifocals because there's an area where they blend."

I think I could get by with single-focus reader glasses (i.e. I can pass -- and did recently pass -- my driver's test without glasses, but I have trouble reading my phone without them.) However, I'm 100% sure I'd lose them if I was taking them off/putting them on all day, so I prefer "regular" glasses that I wear all the time.

It took me a LONG time toget used to my first pair... months and multiple trips back to the optometrist where they told me "They are correct. It just takes some time to get used to them." I finally did get used to them... and I think I'm on my 3rd pair since then and I have not had the adjustment period with the subsequent pairs.

Wore glasses and/or contact lenses for decades (started with glasses about age 10). I was extremely nearsighted. As I got older, I moved on to progressive lenses. Four years ago, I had cataract surgery and it’s been amazing. Now my distance vision is perfect, though I still need to use readers.

I have single vision glasses, a pair for distance and a pair for close up.

I use the distance for driving currently. At some point I will probably have to try progressive lenses as I can't imagine my vision will get better with age. lol 👓

I wear progressive lenses. The biggest adjustment is lifting and lowering your head to find the right focal point in the lens for whatever you're doing. They aren't the same as no-line bifocals. No-line bifocals only give you two distinct areas for correction. Progressives provide a smooth transition along multiple areas of correction.

Me, too!

Glasses thick as coke bottles from the time I was 5 years old. Cataract surgery gave me perfect distance vision… just use readers I can buy at the drug store.

It’s like being reborn honestly… lived with glasses for over 6 decades and still have dents in my face from the weight of the frames but it is glorious and worth the wait!

OMG, I know. It’s incredible, truly life-changing. So nice to be able to see clearly from the moment I wake up. I can drive without corrective lenses for the first time and my night vision has improved tremendously. I was apprehensive to have the procedure, but so glad I did it.

I’ve worn glasses since 4th grade, progressive lenses since my early 40’s (I’m 67). I had cataract surgery last summer and was hoping to only need reading glasses but I have too much astigmatism ☹️

I have single vision glasses, but I usually wear contacts. So far I think that's all I need, I don't have any trouble with seeing things near.

I have single lens glasses that I rarely use. I wear contacts 99% of the time. Glasses do not correct my depth perception issue so I would never drive in them because I can’t tell how close I am to cars around me. I also rarely wear them when traveling because I can’t tell the depth of stairs. Or if I am in a rug is at an area rug or do I need to step down.
