EXPIRED: Part ONE of 2015 CLUB LEVEL (CL) INFORMATION and HELP Thread DO NOT POST HERE!!!

Is it normal to not get turn down service if you are already in your room? We had an early evening and when I came back from getting a drink in the lounge, I saw them a couple of doors down, said hello and she saw me go into my room. About an hour later, I realized, she never came by. Its not the end of the world but some chocolates and new towels would have been nice. Maybe she thought we wanted privacy but we didn't put the sign out or anything, just thought this was weird.
You didn't tell me about this, too:(

No, it's not normal at the OFC (at least not in the South Wing where we always stay). In fact, we're usually in our room when Turn-Down starts and they will always knock and we will decline, if we're in the room. But, she will still offer chocolates and you can ask her for more towels, etc… They should always knock unless you have the DND sign up. Can you add this to the list of things to tell the staff about when you get back from SW today?

Hi everyone, thanks for all of your feedback on poly CL, how it's laid out and such.
We have decided that we are going to stay at YC CL this time because we really loved that pool. It will be a shorter trip so we want to return to the familiar. Lol
I think we might try poly in a few years when all the Reno is done. So excited to be heading back to the world!!!! :-)

Does anyone have any recommendation whether to choose BC or YC club level? Trying to decide where to stay and wondering which is the better choice? Thank you so much for any feedback - we have never stayed at either resort - nor have we ever stayed club level before!

BC CL is due for a renovation this year - I have heard the fall. The lounge will be expanded which is a good thing as it is small.
I have stayed both YC and BC CL and we much prefer YC CL over BC CL. Size for one thing. I liked the layout of the lounge much better but again if you are going next year I would recommend either place b/c the refurb will have occurred at BC in 2014.

If you do decide to stay BC CL, ALL BC CL GV rooms have a full balcony. This cannot be said for SV or Waterview just Garden View. Whereas at YC all have full balconies on the club level. The number of rooms allocated to garden view at either resort is REALLY limited - to like 5 rooms and they are only a few dolalrs more than a standard room and to me very much worth it....

The one issue at BC CL GV rooms is several of them connect and one of these is handicapped. I found YC CL GV quieter.....

THe garden view rooms are very close to the lounge at either resort..whereas if you are standard view it can be a real haul to the lounge....

We loved YC CL and have stayed five times and only once at BC CL. I would be willing to give BC a chance again after the refurb but would stay water view b/c really not happen with the configuration of the garden view rooms at BC.

Thanks so much for your reply! That was very helpful! One more question - would you say the food offerings at both resorts were the same, or was one better than the other? Thanks again!!!

I know this is a subjective question, but, between the Poly and AKL, which club level do you prefer and why?

They are so similar if not identical....I think identical...

I did tell mike this as well. He assured me it wouldn't happen again and the mouse keeping has been outstanding. We ended up having a wonderful stay after a little bit of a rocky start. Ana and Bonnie have really been taking care of us! Is there somewhere we can fill out a comment card on them? Oh and we are in the north wing.

They're VERY different, but we liked them both.

I think the biggest difference is the comparison between Poly and AKL themselves. Poly has much bigger rooms, is on the monorail, but is much more expensive. AKL is cheaper, you have to take busses everywhere, but you have a guaranteed Arusha Savannah view, which is the best savannah. And you can do the sunrise safari (extra cost), which is a nice exclusive perk.

Poly is also undergoing construction now, which wouldn't necessarily keep me away (I wouldn't book an MK view now though), but it should be taken into consideration.

We've stayed at Poly many times, but never CL. After staying CL a number of times at a combination of BC, BWI and CR, we're hooked! Last year, we stayed at Poly, but the Hawaii was under construction. And this year, by the time I decided to plan a quick surprise trip for our boys later this month, GV CL at Poly was no longer available. But after several weeks of no availability, GV CL at Poly became available and I booked it right away!

A quick question: If the lounge technically closes at 10pm, but Wishes starts at 10pm, does the lounge stay open a while later so that guests can watch the fireworks from there? If Wishes starts at 10pm, do they still play the music in the lounge?

Hi Pixarmom! We stayed at the poly around July 4th last year, and they had the special fireworks at 9 every night, so I can't answer your question. But it was really annoying that we're cleaning up the dessert and cordials at 9, and the clanging dishes, bottles, etc., were louder than the music. And one of the other guests decided it was her patriotic duty to hum loudly to all the music :crazy2:. So after that we found it was much better watching the fireworks from the beach:thumbsup2. Wishes doesn't cover as much area as the July 4th fireworks, but this is from right outside the Hawaii building.

This is so funny about the humming to the music! Even when watching from the beach it can be difficult to hear the music sometimes. Last time we did this, we happened to be near two ladies that were constantly chatting (about work!) and we had to move further down the beach. I always try to watch fireworks from inside the park when I can.

Hi psac! Thanks for the info, and as always, beautiful photo! I keep hearing about less-than-magical fellow Poly CL guests, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for our stay!

I was there in April and again in May. We watched wishes at least once from the lounge each time and I loved it.

Wishes was at 8 for me but I would cut through lounge at night and grab a coke or water. The actual space is always open there just won't be desserts or drinks after 10. I do remember one night dd and I were there at 10 and they announced the time and asked if you needed anything.

For many years we watched from the beach but sitting comfortably in an actual cushioned chair was really wonderful. :goodvibes

For us the hidden gem of the Poly CL was the upstairs (3rd floor) extension. We spent a few days doing resort-only relaxing, and it was nice having that space as an extra room add-on. It was generally empty except for us, rarely a few other people. :thumbsup2

Love all the tips - thanks so much to both of you!! :) Good to know the actual lounge space is always open - sounds like the set-up at CR. And psac, I think the boys will love the 3rd floor space - anything that feels like a loft is always a hit with them.

The food and drink service will technically be over but usually they walk around and offer whatever is left of the desserts, also carafes of water are often passed out which is when we would always get our night time water supply for post teeth brushing! ;) The CM's are cleaning up during this time so it can be lively, but it never really bothered us much. Of course the beach is just a few steps out the door if you want a better view.

Thanks so much!!! Always enjoy your reports! :)

I know this question has been asked and answered many times, and I've read a number of old threads about it. But I'm hoping someone with experience can help us decide between GF RPC and SL for January 2015. It's part of a split stay with BWI CL. We'll stay at GF for a couple nights for our youngest son's birthday and then transfer to BWI CL for the rest of marathon weekend.

A few things about us:

1. We're a family of five - at time of travel, kids will be 8, 14 and 15.
2. My husband does not love Disney, so if he joins us, a club lounge that offers some peace and quiet will be key. Examples: He likes BWI CL and the WL lobby at 5am, but that's about it.
3. Our youngest son needs breaks from the parks in the afternoons and for various reasons, also benefits from a low-key, quiet lounge.
4. Our two older boys are hungry teens who are pretty much happy with any club lounge.
5. I do love a nice view, but not sure what the view from RPC will be with Poly construction, and I would prioritize my husband and son's need for a quiet spot over the view.

Thoughts? Advice? Thanks!

So I booked a one night CL stay at WL on an AP discount at the beginning of our stay before our AKV/AKL CL stay.
