Expired kohls cash...yes or no?

Got warnings all summer open purchase reminding to use kohls cash on time and will no longer be able to use expired kohls cash.
Now they tell me I can use expired kohls cash?!
Has it changed again?

My local Kohl's (suburban Atlanta) was telling everyone in the check-out line last time I was there, that they will no longer accept Kohl's cash that is expired. The lady said that Kohl's policy had just changed and they wanted everyone to know up front that they had to use their Kohl's cash on time or lose it.

Yes, us too.

Our store has generally taken expired Kohls cash, whereas other stores in neighboring towns do not.

They told us all summer to make sure and use it, they aren't taking expired anymore.

Guess what was in my wallet, $70 Kohls cash, expired last week. DH took little miss to the store today and they accepted it no problem. I was surprised. But I wont count on them taking it expired in the future.

My mom tried to use her expired Kohls cash last week and they told her in the past they would take it, but they are not allowed to do it anymore, and they did not allow her to use it.

Was there today and they did take it. I believe it's a store to store thing at this point but likely not for much longer

My daughter works at Kohl's and it has been a bit of a fiasco with customers getting upset so at least for the time being her store is taking it.

My store made a serious point that they were no longer accepted expired Kohls cash when they gave me mine last time.
Seems fair to me since they always point out the specific times you can use it.

I was surprised they ever took it....to me, expired means expired so after that date it would be no longer valid.

That said...our cashiers made a point in July telling us that as of 8/1 they wouldnt take them any longer after the end date -- not sure if they are actually enforcing it or not though.

I woud think this as well....when I see an expiration date, to me that means I need to make a point to use it before that date or it is my loss. I had no idea Kohls accepted expired KC.

Yes, and that is what I always went by until a Kohl's employee told me "Oh yes, we accept expired Kohl's cash for up to a year"

My SIL just went a couple weeks ago and tried to use one that had expired 3 says prior. She was told no that their new policy was to stick to the expiration date. She even called customer service to complain because it was $30 and she had previously used expired ones. She was told, "Sorry. It's expired. We're now sticking to the date."

Wow, that is crazy to me! What is the point of even bothering with an expiration then? And now I feel ripped off for assuming that following the "rule" was the only option.
