Expired Disney Visa Rewards

Ohhh nooo, I am soo sorry to hear this! I hope they can work something out for you! The way I have gotten around losing points is to do the transfer to the redemption card then immediately purchase a gift card with it. The gift cards never expire and don't reduce in value so as long as I don't lose them ........

I LOVE this idea!! Especially because Disney now allows gift cards to be combined. I have 2 Disney reward cards and a gift card - would be great to put them all onto one gift card.

My question is how do you buy a gift card with your Disney rewards if it's not an even number? If I have $482 in Rewards, can I buy $500 worth of gift cards and just pay the difference? Or do I have to buy $400 and leave the $82 on my Rewards card? (which then defeats the purpose, lol).

Yes, you can make the Redemption card your #1 source then have a backup payment source for the remainder.

How do you purchase the gift card with the reward dollars?
You order a redemption card (if you don't already have one), transfer the rewards dollars you want to use (I believe you must have $20 to order the card but after that you can transfer in increments of $10 I believe), go to Disney shopping, order the card and value you want, when it comes to checkout select Rewards Redemption Card as your form of payment then enter the info from your card. It will most likely also ask you to enter a credit card for back up purposes but the credit card will not be charged anything unless your redemption card does not have enough points to cover the cost of the card. Check out and voila! A few days later you will have your gift card in your mail box. I just received my first $25 one yesterday for our next trip (whenever that may be).

Reading this thread got me thinking. Can you use the redemption card to make a deposit into your Disney Vacation Account? Or do you have to get a Disney GC first with the redemtion card?

I bet you could do that!
