Experts: TTC or Poly bus?

I'm a Monorail Cast Member, so I can help you here. The only busses you can take from the Polynesian are for Downtown Disney, Typhoon Lagoon, and Blizzard Beach. If you wanted to go to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, you would have to take the monorail back to TTC (or walk, it's just a 5 min. walk), and take a bus from there. If you were at Hollywood Studios, and wanted to get back to the Poly, you would need to take the bus back to TTC, then the monorail back to the Poly. Since the resort is connected to the monorail system, there are no direct busses to it from the parks. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions! Have a magical visit!

Because you are identifying yourself as a Disney cast member, people may tend to believe you more than they might believe others. So that's why I feel the need to be more forceful than I usually am by saying that

Poly has a bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios. Poly has a bus to Animal Kingdom.

If you're gonna identify yourself as a Disney CM, especially one with a role in transportation, for Pete's sake, please be sure you're reporting 100% accurate information.

I wouldn't look for buses that say "TTC", but "Magic Kingdom". If coming from another park, I believe MK buses drop you off at the TTC, while they take you to the front gate from the resorts.

There is no such thing at DHS and AK as a bus or bus stop with the sign "Magic Kingdom" ... at those parks, the bus stop and the corresponding bus very definitely say "Transportation & Ticket Center."

So, getting back to my original question, which I don't think has actually been answered.
At AK the bus stops are separated by two lanes of road and a median of grass, from what I remember. The station for the TTC bus is to the left (as you face it upon exiting the park) and the station for the Poly is to the right, again separated by the loop of road that the buses take.

Are we able to choose the bus that arrives first? Or will we be too far from the other station to see the other bus arrive or to run over there to catch it? Are we better off just waiting for the TTC bus?

What about at other parks like TL, BB or HS? (are the stops separated or near each other)?

If you want to choose, I would stand in the queue of the station that the bus will pass first. If the other bus enters the loop, hop out of line and hot-foot it for the other station (you have to run completely around on the sidewalk - you can't/shouldn't cross the traffic lanes). My sister and I have done this and, while out of breath, we did manage to make it to the other stop before the doors closed. If you don't want to have to run, pick a queue and wait. I listen to the DisUnplugged podcast when I'm waiting in line, so it never seems to take very long.

On the AK: which to choose to get back to Poly question, I like to commit to one (TTC or Poly) and risk/accept the groaning of the others in my party if I pick the wrong one. I'd rather pick, relax while waiting for the bus, and not stress running over (although I agree you probably have time to run over -- assuming you can see which stop you are monitoring).

Sometimes one has a long line -- which to me generally indicates that bus is more likely (not necessarily) going to come before the one with no line. This is so not scientific -- just my approach.

Yes, at AK, the Contemporary/Polynesian bus and the TTC bus are on different platforms.

At DHS, the load zones are right next to each other: #11 for TTC, #12 for Poly.

At TL, there is no bus to TTC. (TL is served by the DTD bus, and we all know that there are no buses to the theme parks from DTD.)

<EDIT> I just noticed you added BB in your second attempt. Sorry, no bus to TTC from BB either.

Before my first time at Poly, I thought exactly the same thing. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. The Poly bus stop isn't at the GCH. It's about a city block away, in the direction of the TTC.

My room was in the Tahiti longhouse, which I'd requested, and one of the reasons I requested it was its proximity to the TTC. But I was at the end of Tahiti that points away from the TTC. So when I walked from my room, it was about the same distance to the Poly bus stop and the TTC bus stop.

Decisions ... decisions!

Ah, isn't it nice to think about such terrible problems!!!
