Expert Needed: Old Thinkpad 360 needs software

I have an old IBM Thinkpad 360 that still works. I would like to put DOS 6(?) and Win311 or Win95 on it and have the kids use it as a second computer for typing in reports etc...

Do any of you computer wizards out there know where I can get my hands on this old software? A compatable version of MS Word would be a plus too.

Check around locally with friends, neighbors, family, co-workers - someone might have a copy. You may even find it on e-Bay or a garage sale.

Failing that, check at any computer repair shop.

What software is currently on it? You may be able to find a version of Windows 98 floating around, but Microsoft just discontiued support for it, so you'll not likely find drivers or help for it. I don't think you would find a version of Windows 95.

I would think it's the same with older versions of Word. A newer version may or may not work. You could try to install what you have (of course, that would not be within your license agreement).

I am not sure what to suggest to you.

Jillpie--I might be able to help you. I'm pretty sure we have Dos 6, Windows 3.11, and an old version on Word and/or Word Perfect, plus some old games and such around here. Let me talk to DH and find out for you.

eBay is a good place. A lot of old software ends up at Goodwill too.
