I posted this in the restaurant section, but I'm also looking for general advice about this itinerary. Ok, here is what I have so far, but remember that nothing is set in stone. We are a family of 4 (Me, dh, ds-5, dd-4) staying at CBR from Sept 24th-30th. Unfortunately we don't have a rental car so will be using Disney Transportation. So, my concern is that I'm planning too much hopping. Please read and let me know what you think. I would appreciate ANY advice or suggestions as this is our first trip:

Sat--Arrival; check in and relax at hotel; dinner at O'Hana's

Sun--Magic Kingdom; lunch at Crystal Palace (Pooh) or counter meal; rest at hotel; dinner at Boma's

Mon--Animal Kingdom; Lunch at Counter; rest at hotel; Chef Mickey's for dinner; MK again??

Tues--Epcot(Futureworld); lunch at Alfredo's counter; rest at hotel; Crystal Palace dinner; Spectro Parade and fireworks(if they are scheduled this day based on last year)

Wed--MGM; lunch at Sci-Fi or 50's Primetime or counter; rest at hotel; Dinner at Le'Cellier in Epcot World Showcase--Illuminations??

Thurs--Magic Kingdom; lunch at Counter; Rest at Hotel; Dinner at MGM Mama Melrose--Fantasmic??

Fri--Character Breakfast--any suggestions?; repeat any favorite attractions;
depart for airport

My goal is to be at the park openings and come back to the hotel for an afternoon break, but if we happen to sleep in (I doubt my kids will, but you never know) then we will just go for the late morning and all afternoons, skip the break and go right to dinner.

So, you've been to Disney--what do you think of this itinerary? Is it too much hopping? I would LOVE your feedback on the itinerary in general, as well as the restaurants!! Thanks!

I wouldn't do Crystal Palace for both dinner and lunch. I would do CP for either breakfast or lunch and 1900 Park Fare (for your little princess) for dinner. GF is just a monorail ride over from MK so it's easy to go there on an MK night.

For your last character breakfast maybe Cape May Buffet at BC.

Well as I speak from experience, once you get to WDW, sometimes the planning goes out the window.

Since you will not have a car, going from one resort to another takes about an hour.

There is a lot of hopping. But you put in rest time, so it might not be an issue. Many guests put a day off in the middle of the trip to restore their energy, and kids do like to hang out at the pool.

What time is your arrival into WDW? Sometimes that takes longer than expected so you might miss your reservation at Ohanas.
Your resort is beautiful, so you might want to just hang out there the 1st night. I come from 3 time zones, so I just rest the 1st night.

And you can always come back to see what you missed :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

Have fun.

Thanks for the quick reply. We will do Crystal Palace for lunch OR dinner--not both. My dd is more interested in the animal characters than the princesses for some reason. So, I'm leaning more toward the Crystal Palace, but I will check out the Park Fare option. Thanks so much!!

Our plan gets in at 1:10 so I think we should be ok for the 6:30 reservation at O'Hana's. We are from the east coast, so the time zone thing isn't a factor.

Thanks for your comments!

There's also Liberty Tree Tavern at MK that's a character dinner (sans princesses) that's a nice family style dinner. Hope this helps.
