Experiences at the DCL Welcome Center at MCO

Hi there! We're cruising on the Dream at the end of August and will be taking the DCL transfers to the port. I've learned that non-US citizens can't check in at the Welcome Center at MCO, but must do so at the Port. I'm wondering if any recent Canadian cruisers can tell me how this affected their boarding number, now that DCL has changed their check in procedures? From what I've read on the Cruise board, it seems that people who check in at the airport are getting lower boarding numbers, while people who check in at the port are getting really high boarding numbers! Anyone have any advice? TIA!

People who use DCL transport from MCO to Port Canaveral (regardless of citizenship) get their boarding number at the airport -- you get the boarding number when you get on the bus, not when you check in.

We used DCL transport in March, 2011, to cruise on Disney Magic.

The first bus out from MCO get's the lowest boarding numbers (our bus, the first, had #2 and #3 boarding numbers).

Yes, we could not check in for the boat, but it's still worthwhile to get to the DCL desk early. If you want the first bus (to get the lowest boarding numbers), get there early (I checked in for the bus @ 7:30am, and got a 9:30am bus).

Not for us. We cruised recently on the Dream and we didn't get our boarding number for the ship until we arrived at the Port.

Interesting because we went on Feb 27th, and we checked in for the bus only, and then had to check in at the port and recieved our number as we entered this line.

People on our bus were given 19 as a boarding number, We ended up with 24 (which meant we got on about 10 minutes later.) and because of an error on DCL's part we had to wait for them to get us a private car, so we got there about a half hour later than the bus.

The line for non us residents was much shorter at the airport.
