I know when you check in online sometimes you can add a person.

I have a February trip coming up with 7 people. I can easily get reservations for 6, but can not seem to get for 7 or 8.

I am looking for personably experiences adding 1 person at check in and how it worked out for you, was it successful or not?

I will of course continue to work to get for 7/8 or pick another place, but would love feedback.

Some people have reported being able to add up to one person at check-in. Others have been able to add up to 0 people (so no one).

You will need an entirely different table size, likely the largest standard table available. This puts you at a disadvantage. Have a plan for person 7 in case they are not able to join you.

Was hit or miss ~50% or less for me earlier this month (Dec). I didn't need to add anyone. They're managing not only table size (e.g. going from 3 to 4 is likely same table; 4 to 5 likely needs larger table), but they're also keeping track of the overall occupancy limits of the building.

What restaurant? Look at the table sizes to get a better idea of whether it’s feasible for that location, but keep in mind occupancy limits are a real thing. The only time I successfully added another person at check in was with an infant. I just completely forgot my baby needed her own reservation and by the time I remembered the restaurant was completely booked. I got lucky.

Usually the resort restaurants can add a person but you would have to wait 30-40 mins (our experience Spring break @ STK71, Story book dining, Topolinos; hist. Ohana, Boma).

Other restaurants can’t add any person and even sitting together is questionable (eg Space220, CRT)

Thank you all!

I’m going to abandon this plan, I think, I may try to get a separate reservation for 2, and try it. But I really don’t want to deal with hungry kids and not being able to eat.

Restaurant was/is via Napoli, but I know they have tables for 8 as I’ve sat at them. But if I can’t get it this time or they changed the tables it’s just not worth the stress!

I've only tried a few times and was never able to do it online. always ended up stopping at the restaurant the day before or day of. About a 50% success rate.

I would say no, because there isn't any availability for a table larger than you already have - and you can't just add a 7th person to a table for 6.
