Experience with Split Stay (Universal/Disney) and rental?

We need to rent a manual chair. We'll be staying at Universal first, then Disney. I see from the form online at Buena Vista, that we can have the wc dropped at Universal's bell services, but we have to schedule an in-person pickup at the Disney resort. Last year we used Scooterbug because they have pediatric chairs and my DX didn't yet need a 20" chair. We didn't have to meet them at all which was nice, but we stayed at Universal the entire time.

Just wondering what everyone's experience has been with renting from Buena Vista, or another company, when doing a split stay between Universal and Disney? Was drop off and pick up smooth? Do the pick up drivers arrive on time? The last thing I want to deal with is hunting down a chair when we arrive or miss a flight because we're hunting down a pick up driver.
 
Can'T you PU at Universal, return at WDW ?
Yes, that's what I'm asking for experiences with. And from the Buena Vista website, the customer can no longer just leave the rental at bell services at checkout. They have to arrange to meet the driver from Buena Vista and hand it directly to the driver on a preset schedule. I'm asking how that works.
