I'm specifically wondering if a kind-hearted chef at a TS buffet might offer to make some non-meat gravy for me to go with my biscuits??? I adore biscuits and gravy but since going vegetarian two years ago I haven't had it. I'm wondering if a chef might make a simple milk gravy for me without the sausage.

Have you had any experience with a chef making something extra for you to accomodate a dietary request and if so, what restaurant was it at?

Thanks!

Well, I didn't have gravy made or anything lengthy, BUT, at Boma, the chef came out and walked me around the buffet and told me what was in everything (I'm vegan, so no dairy either) and she had a special salad made and brought out for me with no cheese! I found them to be VERY accommodating at TS restaurants and being a vegetarian it will be even easier for you than it was for me. It won't hurt to ask and they are usually really helpful! :)

I will mention that you should ask what is in things...I was about to grab some great looking vegetable soup at Sunshine Seasons (Epcot) and just thought to ask about the broth...sure enough, it's made with chicken broth. :sad2:

My mother is on a low protein diet and so most of the items that she can eat when going out is vegetarian. When we were in EPCOT at the Norway Princess Dinner we found not a lot on the menu that she liked or could eat. We asked the server and he mentioned that the chef would be able to make something special for her. The server thought that the chef would be able to come to the table and talk to us but came back and said that he was busy with a few families with children with allergies. He then asked my Mom if he make a ravioli dish would that be ok? My Mom is Italian and loves ravioli so all was good. After a few quick questions on vegetables that she liked he was off and running. My Mom had the BEST meal for the whole time we were in WDW. She loved it and raved about it. It was a great experience.
