Hi - I need advice. I recently had my hair/makeup trail with Beaute Speciale. The girl they sent was late and she was super chatty and fake laughed A LOT. The job she did was good. The frustration came because I had emailed Veronica (their coordinator) a couple days before to confirm the appt and make sure everything was in order which she said it was. My mistake was not looking at the reciept to see that she only charged me the deposit so I had to run out and get cash for the girl - who followed me to the bank so I wouldn't run off. Beaute Speciale is saying I am at fault becuase I did not read the contract (I have had multiple emails from Veronica regarding this - and they just get nastier and nastier) or look at my reciept. The stylist said that this happens all the time. I would have thought by now that Beaute Speciale would know this is an issue and inconvenience and put a reminder on the confirmation email that cash will be needed or something. I am so glad I had the money in my account. Not sure what would have happened if I didn't. I am now emailing with Veronica regarding how I can pay in advance for the day of because I REALLY DON"T WANT TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH CASH on the day of my wedding. I want it to be stress free. As I said before she is just getting nastier and nastier with me in emails - even highlighting and underlining the same text over and over. So, my question to you all, is this just a singler bad experience or is the customer servie wtih this company really that bad???

Not sure how everything went so funky and I'm sorry. I'm pretty sure we used pay pal and/or faxed credit card info as to not deal with $$ day of. The people coming to your room don't have means to accept a credit card. We prepaid for the wedding and had cash for a tip. I believe we did do a deposit and paid cash for the balance. Not sure why things went funky! I had a different group for the wedding day and portraits and it was really great! :goodvibes

I used them for my trial too but I did see the spot on the contract that said cash only the day of. She also offered me the option of paying by credit card but I had to do that the week before. I think their policy makes sense from a business standpoint. If you want to pay for the day of in full you can just do it early with your credit card. To be honest I don't really think they are at fault, yeah they could have reminded you when they confirmed but placing it on the contract should be enough IMO. They probably assume that when a person is entering into a contract that they actually read the contract before signing. If you're really upset about the way it was handled then try another vendor, there are a few others that get mentioned frequently on here. But if you were happy with how your hair/makeup came out then stick with Beaute Speciale and either pay in full ahead of time or have cash on hand the day of.

I just used them for my hair/make up trial about a month ago. I too emailed to confirm the appointment before we left and in the same email I asked about paying either beforehand or if I needed cash. I knew that I would have a balance based on the contract--I was only charged a $50 deposit. Veronica said she could go ahead and charge my card or do cash on the day of. I opted to prepay and then gave my stylist a cash tip. I bet we had the same stylist--she was super chatty and laughed a lot. I liked her, but I could see how it might turn some people off. Oh, and she was super prompt for my 8 am appointment.

I'm sure they deal with all kinds of crazy situations. I agree with Jilian, if it really bothers you that much, then look into another vendor. As long as you took pics of what the stylist did, another person should be able to recreate it.

We are using Beaute Speciale this weekend for my wedding, but I did not do a trial with them. I know I had to email Veronica several times asking about prepayment... I think maybe they get a little confused with all of the brides that they are handling? At any rate, I agree cash on the day of is a pain in the butt, but they definitely put it in their contract. Were you at least happy with the final product? I'm a little nervous about using someone I didn't have a trial with, but my planner said they were the best!

I used Beaute Speciale for my epics and I loved my stylist and I thought the correspondence with Veronica was great as well. She was upfront with how I could pay the balance, and the contract was clear too. How were you planning on paying for the balance?

Sorry to go slightly off topic but Miss Manners, I used them for our wedding in October and I didn't have a trial either and my hair and make up turned out perfect. I showed them a photo of a hair style and they matched it spot on :thumbsup2

Awesome I am so happy to hear that!

My mom, sister and I used Beaute Speciale on my wedding day, and I cannot recommend them enough. Jackie and Isa were our stylists and they were awesome.

I did not have a pic for make up, but I did for hair. I let them do their thing for make up and my mom and sister let them decide what to do for both their hair and make up. Jackie and Isa were very prompt, showing up at 5:30 am and they made the morning fun and relaxed. It was a perfect way to start the day.

As the previous poster said, it states right on the contract that cash is required the day of services, so they are not at fault. It is important to read this information.

Good luck with what you decide!

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. The women who come to do hair and make up from Beaute Speciale are absolutely fantastic. Please do not let the witch Veronica upset you. That woman angered me to the point that I almost cancelled with them because of her nasty nasty attitude. (If you want to know about it just pm me and I will explain) Sadly Veronica is not customer service oriented and really shouldn't be the only point of contact. Keep in mind the witch does not come to do hair and make up. She doesn't even live in the state of Florida so she will be no where near. You will be so happy if you stick with them to the end (regardless of Veronica's bad attitude). I had never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day and it was thanks to the wonderful women taking their time and skills to make me that way. Enjoy your day and the time before it. Veronica is a nobody and will mean nothing to you once the day is over. HTH!

I used them both for my e-pics and the day of. Both times the ball was in my court to figure out how much I owed them and to seek them out to make the payment.

For the day of the wedding I had 5 total people getting hair and makeup and I wanted it handled in advance so I had to basically do the math myself and email them what I thought was the estimate to check if it was correct. Now Veronica was never nasty to me, she just was never outwardly helpful. They also forgot to mention the $50 early fee for any services before 6am. Understandable, but when I am forced to calculate the total myself, it would be great if they can correct me at that point.

Overall I was happy with the services, but it definitely lacks the professional business side.

If you do stay with them, just ask clearly for the amounts ahead of time and pre-pay with a credit card. Hope this helps.

Good luck the day of and have fun!

Wow, I'm surprised to hear people calling Veronica names. She was nothing but nice to me. In fact, I found out with just a few weeks notice that I was going to be in the Orlando area and emailed her to see if she could squeeze me in for a hair/makeup trial. I was there the weekend of 11/11/11 and they were slammed with appointments and she still fit me in. She was super nice to me via email (I've never talked with her on the phone). I'm sorry to hear of the bad experiences. I had Jackie and she was really nice. I can't wait to chat with her again when she does my hair/makeup for my VR in a few mos. She was really nice and friendly.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will take full blame for what happened at my trail run - I did see on the contract that cash only day of, I just assumed it was paid in full especially when any additional payment was not mentioned in the confirmation emails with Veronica. Again, that is what I get for assuming.

I ended up calling and speaking directly to Ana the other day. She explained to me that if I do book with them a few weeks before my wedding I would be asked the lengths of each persons hair to determine the cost in full. She said when I book I will pay the deposit and that she will put a note in their schedule to contact me regarding paying in full in advance as this is a concern of mine. She did say that she understood not wanting to deal with bills and cash day of and that they would prefer everyone pay in advance. It was nice to hear someone friendly at the company - well, other than the chatty stylists (cute girl, just not what I expected). I still haven't had my question on travel costs answered - I am having 5 girls hair/make up done and am not sure if the travel costs are per girl (5 * $25), per stylists (undetermined * $25), or only one fee overall (just $25) but I am sure that will be answer in due time. But after speaking with Ana I feel more comfortable with going with them. I will just have to grin and bear it through emails with Veronica.

I'm pretty sure there is no travel cost if you are staying on property. If you're staying off property just drop them an email and ask for a total. They've always gotten back to me pretty quickly via email.

I used them for both my epics and wedding day and loved them! Had no issues. I didn't like my hair on my WD I told Ana and she immediately changed it. For both occasions they can to AKL and they did not charge travel fee but that was back in 09.
