If you've used a car company from the airport to resort that includes a grocery stop, can you tell me how this went for you? Were you able to get what you wanted? Were you rushed? Was it a waste of time?

Trying to decide whether to do this, or take ME and use gardengrocer. We'll mainly be needing beverages/snacks/breakfast.

TIA!

We've used the car companies, but have never stooped for food. Now we use ME and Garden Grocer and it works very well for us. :goodvibes

One idea if you want to use the car service - Albertson's will take your order by phone/fax and have it ready for pick-up - it sounds great - see link --

We use Amtrak to get to WDW but have a car service pick us up at the Kissimmee Station and we're granted a 30 minute grocery stop. I told the company before hand we required food and alcohol, no problem. In route there is a Publix's and a liquor store next door. It's just the wife and I but we pre-list what we need and want and she gets one list and I the other and we can be out of the store in record time. She usually waits at the deli counter getting the lunchmeats and cheeses and I run around the store for beer, wine, pop, breads, pickles and chips and meet at the check out. While she's checking out I run next door to the liquor store and get our favorite libations and the car service driver helps with the bags. We love it and it's become part of our tradition, we like seeing what we're getting. Publix's prices are pretty good and nothing beats a homemade salami and ham sandwich, chips, pickles and olives and potato salad at the pool washed down with a couple of beers. Heck, we buy buns and do the food court double meat burger, take a bun from the room and make 2 burgers out on the double and there's plenty of fries to share.

We've used Tiffany Towncars twice to get from MCO to the hotel (once at Disney, once at Universal). We did the grocery stop each time. The driver was wonderful. He never made us feel rushed (although we moved quickly and would not have wanted to take advantage of him).

I wouldn't promise that you can get what you want, though, just because you don't know about store inventory. There might be some particular thing you wish you could buy, but the grocery store you've stopped at either doesn't sell it or ran out of it.
