Experience booking concierge @AKV lately?

I am looking to book 5 nights in a AKV concierge studio next year for a one of my milestone birthdays. Unfortunately the stay doesn't begin until a Monday evening and I'm wondering if I will have any shot at getting it since it doesn't start on a weekend. Luckily, it isn't during peak season (eithr Disney peak or DVC peak) and doesn't fall on a holiday. AKV is my home resort so I do have the 11 month window.

I was hoping to hear what have the experiences been like lately trying to book the concierge at AKV. I haven't booked one since 2009 so I'm hoping it is slightly easier now.

I called Sun morning & booked a 2 bdrm (lockoff) for next Sept. It's for 4 nights, starting on a Sun. I called exactly at 11 mos. Our previous stay (Dec 2009) started on a Sat, and was also booked at 11 mos. Sorry, I don't know if it's any easier now or not. I was very nervous both times I called, and had expected MS to say that CL wasn't available. Very surprised when I got our 2 bdrm.

You might be interested in following a thread about AKV - CL where members had to stay on another fl, not on the 6th fl. I'm concerned about this. Enough so that we might decide to change our resv's and not have to worry about the possibility of that happening when we check in. We have quite a while yet, and I'm not sure what we'll do.

You might be interested in following a thread about AKV - CL where members had to stay on another fl, not on the 6th fl. I'm concerned about this. Enough so that we might decide to change our resv's and not have to worry about the possibility of that happening when we check in. We have quite a while yet, and I'm not sure what we'll do.

The fifth floor would be a better view but it sounds like moving the member from the sixth floor to the fifth was due to a one time problem.

I realize the view from the 5th would be much better than that on the 6th. However, being on the 6th, it was so easy to just go out to the lounge & check to see what foods had been set out, if they had been refilled, etc. It was the convenience factor that we liked: close to the lounge, close to the elevator, and the elevator was close to the front door.

That's exactly what we liked about CC level too, and we have mostly stayed on the pool view side.

My wife does all the booking for our vacations and has never had a problem booking an AKV CL Studio room at the 11 month window over the last 4 years straight. We have started the rezzie on different days as well and it was always available. I don't think you should have a problem.

On the 1st day i could do so, at the 11 month mark i booked a 7 nite concierge stay at AKL from July 10 - 17, 2012. Yoiu can only book 7 nites at the 11 month mark, not sure why. On the next day I booked an the 18th. With no problem. Last winter, in Feb, when we bought DVC, I tried to book a concierge studio for 7/10 - 7/18 but there was no availability.

We own at AKV, and waitlisted for 4 nights in May 2012 at the 10 1/2 month mark for a 1BR concierge. Once the 7 month window came, we switched to BCV and decided to just cancel our waitlist and to call on the 11th month mark next month for next October instead. I hate the stress of waitlisting!
