IS expedition everest a bumpy ride because my mom get motion sick very esaly but she wants to go on the ride

thanks Captain hooked on disney pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate: pirate:

It is not bumpy at all. We were there a week ago and the 13 y/o we were with also gets motion sickness, but she rode EE 4 times!!! It's fast, pretty intense, but is very smooth!!!

It is a roller coaster though, and I would think someone prone to motion sickness might not like it. There's also a spot where you go backwards that is a little stomach dropping-esqe

I get motion sickness pretty easy. I took a dramamine before riding and I was still a bit woozy.

It is a very smooth coaster, however, the backwards part really tickles your tummy!!! :bounce:

Does Big Thunder Mountain RR bother her? Imagine that ride, twice as high or more, twice as intense but similar in concept. It's really a great ride!

Friend here,
just wondering if anyone could tell me anything more about how the ride is! I have a 12 year old daughter who isn't very keen on the thought of really high drops like on Splash Mountain. I want her to go on it, but i need a bit more info to tell her. She is my Disney Princess and i want her to go on every ride she can and wants to go on!
:wizard: :cloud9:  princess: :dumbo: :tigger: paw: :dogdance: :fish: :jumping2: :genie: :teleport: :hippie:

There is a post right above yours with a video link. Watch it/them, and see if you need to know anymore.

I agree with that statement! My DH and I went on it twice yesterday!

I'll post my trip report tomorrow. We just got back about an hour ago from Florida :( and I'm exhausted and ready for bed.

I don't get motion sickness on rides, but I got sick on a cruise for some reason. Dramamine didn't work for me, but Bonine sure did without the drowsiness!! :thumbsup2

as i have posted a million times before, and will gladly post again, I LOVE EE!!! i hate big drops, i hate going backwards in the dark, and i typically hate roller coasters. However, for some reason i did RnRc (loved it) big thunder (it was alright... not 'thrilling' enough for me... if you can believe that... and i did EE... what an amazing ride. The front drop (80ft) wasnt bad at all for me, and i really wasnt phased at all by it. The backwards part was no big deal, and i would have glady waiting in line for it again had it not been 95* outside with 89% humidity. ( i head right over to kali river rapids)...:)

But......and this is a BIG one....

keep in mind that everyone's experiences and perceptions of EE are different. I could love it and the next poster could HATE it... which i will never understand, but i will always respect 100% :thumbsup2

so i would suggest looking up all the different movies on youtube and watching different videos. I would also type in "the making of expedition everest" and watch that on youtube if you never saw it on tv. It's a 5 part show on youtube (about 1/2 an hour)... but it might help.

and by all means, HAVE FUN if you go on it, and i hope everything works out for you and you have just as much fun on it as i did!!!

It's smoothe but when you go backwards it's kind of dark and disorientating! I didn't feel sick to my stomach just a little woozy! :teeth: hopefully your mom will be alright. Even if she just goes to where the ride is, it's really pretty cool the way they have things set up to look like a Chirpa village. Helen

Granted I'm not a big fan of roller coasters but EE was the most frightening time of my life and I am in my sixties. Going backwards was terrible!! However, I loved Dinosaur and the drops in ToT were exciting. In fact, ToT is my favorite ride/attraction in WDW. Go figure. :confused3

Not At All

We loved it when we rode it last July but . . . the going backwards part was really wild! I almost felt like we were going through a loop for a second! I like roller coasters so I just thought it was fun but for someone else it might be a little scary for them! I wouldn't think it was enough to make anyone too sick.
