I've had a lot of recent reports that some of Expedition Everest's effects are not currently working.

- No steam effect at load
- Second waterfall not running (near the back of the mountain)
- No bird at the track end scene... really it's not a problem... I do not like the bird
- No fog over the mountain
- No fog at the exit of the cave (my favorite effect), it was pretty chilly out, and that cold mist in the top tunnel really added to the realism... pixiedust:

If you ride Everest, and can provide an update as to what is and what isnt working, please do so here. Thanks :flower3:

Please, we deserve that ride back in all its glory. It's the best ride of the story, after the brand new Radiator Springs Racers :worship:

I agree. I don't know if they cheaped out and bought a ride that doesn't work or if they just don't bother fixing stuff or what.

But good luck. They can't even afford to get decent napkins, or even crappy napkins witha WDW stamp on them. I doubt they'll be improving Everest.

OK - I've ridden Expedition Everest enough times and my husband has ridden it more. But quite honestly, isn't this a bit nit-picking? A bird at the track end scene? Really? That disrupts the entire ride? Really? And fog and steam? Really?

Sorry - the ride is fine even without those things.

Now, just have Disney shut the entire attraction done for six months to fix everything and then we will hear the roar of "I can't believe they did that!"

It is the thrill of the ride...more or less. Don't really need a bird or steam blowing on me.

we just rode 2 days ago, and even though I am not detail oriented, I still enjoyed this ride immensely the way it was...call me simple

If all people want are rides, they can do that any place. People pay a lot of extra dough to go to WDW because it has all that extra little stuff.

It is still a good ride, no doubt. It is just less than it once was...which is (disappointingly) becoming very typical of WDW these days.

Word. That ride is awesome. I don't need all of those things either. I just love it !!

I do feel bad about the Yeti though. That was an awesome effect! I still enjoy the Disney theming despite the missing elements ... and I too wish they could be fixed ... but during someone else's trip please. (sorry being bad - I like the ride without the effects too and would miss it during rehab!!)

Wait...did I miss something or are you trying to pass that picture off as a part of a regular show special effect?

It's too bad that so many details are missing but as you can see, many people don't care. So why should Disney?

To be honest, I don't really care that much, as I love the ride for the "track" not for the effects, but I could see why someone who values the latter may be a bit annoyed by the "lack" of maintenance of the effects.

Just keep in mind that at most other parks there is just the track with little or no theming.

Don't get me wrong, for I see where you're coming from, but I respectfully disagree.

What you're reporting is old news. Do a search and you'll find threads about all you are saying.

They'd correct all these things, but it would reduce Iger's bonus to a number below 20,000,000 a year.

Right! I was thinking the same thing. I read the OP and saw it said one of the missing effects was "no fog over the mountain" and then saw the picture and keep thinking they can't be serious ....

I just love EE but have never seen any of those effects operational. If I had I would love it even more.

A fog screen at the exit of the cave, now that would be amazing.

I agree with another poster who said Disney is all about the details. POTC is awesome and would be as well if they removed the fog screen there too, but then again, it's a great detail that makes Disney what it is.

Disclaimer: I've been on EE only once and will not ride it again.

That said, I think that with any attraction, whether it's an E ticket or quiet lesser known ride, WDW is all about the details! All those little details put together as a whole is part of what makes WDW a unique and magical experience. I cringe when I hear about broken/not working parts of any attraction because no detail is too small to ignore. If Disney lets enough details slide, a bit of the magic slides too.
