I read all the threads & I've watched as many videos of EE as I can find to try and psych myself up to ride this next visit.
I hate that "drop in the stomach" feeling on coasters but I'm ok with Splash Mountain & BTMRR. Did Space Mountain once...will never do it again.:scared1:
I think I could cope with what I can see on EE but it's the stuff in the dark I'm worrying about. What I would like to know is when you are going backwards in the dark are you "dropping"?
Please let me know what happens in the dark?

You do drop in the dark, but IMHO its NOWHERE near as steep or fast as the drop you see.

To us, when we were going backward...after a bit it felt like we were going forward, then we stopped! Really a cool feeling:rotfl: My DD5 was yelling yea-haw!! We rode in the back couple of seats so we never really saw the drop coming out of the first tunnel. Next time that's where I'm asking to sit:cool1:

The dips and drop on EE are very tame by most standards, but I wouldn't recommend it for you if you found Space Mountain to be too much.

Right... the biggest drop on Space is something like 20 feet.

The EE backwards part is a downwards helix, basically you go around one leaf of a cloverleaf pretty quickly.

If the darkness is your concern, I don't think you have anything to worry about. It's nothing like Space Mountain for darkness. I think the videos of EE make it look darker because the cameras don't adjust very well.

Yes, downwards, and then UPWARDS in a long continuous ever-tightening loop.

Take it from an EE ex-super chicken, you will be fine. You go backward, and then it stops. Then you drop going forward. If you were okay on Splash Mountain, you will be fine on EE.;)

I was :scared1: for the longest time to ride EE. Then one of the cast members I know told me if I could ride BTMTR, I could ride EE. Finally I got the courage to ride it with my grown DS. He talked me into it. Now I am the first one to get on. It actually gave me the courage to ride Splash Mountain. I think I might even try Space Mountain when I go in 19 days.:woohoo: :woohoo:

I still get the butterfly in the stomach feeling when the rides drop, but I have gotten over my fear. Take it from me, you can do this. No problem!:cool1:

In the dark it goes down only slightly but then up. kind of like a small dip in a road. the drop outside is the only place I would call a 'drop'.

You can get an idea from Luke's Flash site here........

http://disneysims.googlepages.com/everest.html

Run it a few times with the buildings and mountain showing, then click the buttons to remove. You will be able to see when/where the tracks switch so as to put put you and a different course. It does help a lot knowing where you are going.
