Expedition Everest open?

Can anyone tell me if Expedition Everest is open yet. We are going next week. I know they had test runs for annual pass people, but didn't hear if it is now up and running.

It's not "officially" open, but we rode it 3 times yesterday and they were issuing fast passes, so it wasn't a fluke that we were able to ride it.

I emailed WDW and they said the officially opening was April 7, but that they would have "soft" openings until then. By soft I assume they mean for short periods of time.

We are going next week too, and I hope that it has a "soft" opening while we're there.

It was open to everyone the last two times I went to AK -- last Thursday (rode twice in a row with minimal waiting) and again yesterday. The standby wait yesterday around noon was about 30 minutes, but it was also an EMH morning day, which might explain the larger crowds.

I'm guessing they'll keep it open unless they discover some "kinks" they need to work out...

as of right now the ride is operating on regular scedueld. however the yeti is not working properly lately. so the secondary effect is in place. where in stead of seing the yeti in full light you get a strobe effect where the yeti appears to be moving but really isn't.

which makes me think about something. they need to put a disclamer about epileptic people on this ride incase it is running secondary effects.
