Expedition Everest is Coming to VMK!

So, I had a rather strange encounter tonight.

Nico, who is on yavn's staff, came and found me in one of my guest rooms tonight.

(Nico has been on my friend's list for a long time, ever since I first walked in on him in a brand new guest room a LONG time ago, the Haunted Mansion Conservatory! He also showed us the Explorer's Tent room for the first time that night, and we were in shock and very excited! The cool thing is, Heartsdown and I met Nico at Disneyland: we went on the very first VMK Insider Tour there, and Nico went with us! It was so cool to actually meet someone from VMK staff! Anyhow, I digress... )

His very enigmatic words were: "Everest is coming... to VMK... soon..."

I said "oh." Brilliant words at such a moment, teehee.

He said Expedition Everest from Animal Kingdom is coming soon to VMK, and that I should tell everybody. And then he left before I could ask when...

So, some fun news to think about!

Interesting, I had never heard of this ride (stranded on the West coast!) - does this mean the game would involve a type of racing game that involves avoiding every obstacle known to VMKmankind? I'm truly trying to imagine what kind of (difficult) game they are designing.

It is new as of the "Happiest Celebration on Earth". This past summer we saw the construction of it and OMG!!!!! It is HUGE!!!!!. Anyway, there are threads about it in the Theme Park Attractions and Strageties section of Dis. It should open in Spring of 2006 and soft opening in February or January. I heard May it should open to public but again, that is the rumor (might be wrong).

This is THE MOST exciting thing regarding VMK I have heard in a while. I am SO psyched for Expedition Everest in real life - now I can look forward to it in VMK as well.

I have been to the real Mt. Everest and I have to say the themed areas of the "village" at the base of Expedition Everest have a lot of authentic details. It really is beautiful.

Last fall while in AK, I was talking to a manager who told me that the park attraction should open next spring (he mentioned probably in time for the Easter/spring break crowds). So we can probably look for the VMK promotions to show up around the same time. (April?)

Oooooh, I wonder if we will get a mountain climber outfit?

The information I included in my first post, I heard from nico myself. I have heard some rumors that nico gave out some additional information to lots of players yesterday (but I can't say that I heard it from the source):

1. A Yeti costume "may" come out when Expedition Everest does.
2. The Magic Carpet pin will be a prize for beating the Expedition Everst game.

Again, the 2 above points are things that people have reported nico said, but he did not tell me this info.
