Expedition Everest Challenge?

Hey All!

My friend and I were thinking about going over to Orlando to do the Expedition Everest 5k and Scavenger Hunt, but we just found out that they have an "Obstacle Course?" I did some research online, and it looks as though the obstacles are walking over beams, climbing over and under cargo nets, and vaulting.

I have a problem with my arm that makes putting weight on it (i.e. climbing) really difficult.

For those who did this event last year, do they let you bypass the Obstacle Course? If not, I'm afraid I won't be able to do this one, even though it sounds awesome!

Hey Tinagirl!

I did the challenge last year and was told that if you were not comfortable with any of the obstacles, then you can bypass it (or them). The only stipulation is that you wouldn't be eligible to win.

I didn't feel comfortable doing the "hurdles", especially after I saw a man trying to climb over them and then fall...hard! So I walked around that obstacle and went on to climb up and over the cargo nets and on to the other obstacles (there were 4 in all, I did 3.)

Yes, you are allowed to bypass any of the obstacles if you wish. If fact the first obstacle last year (the hurdles) were rather high, probably around 4 1/2 ft. and I saw quite a few people by pass that one.
