Bad mom waited too late to sign up for race for daughter & her dad. If anyone has info on how we can purchase 2 please let me know. Thanks so much!!!
Wait. The tickets are sold out for the party?
I could figure out the second (capitals) and third puzzles (count the alphabet), but not the others. Which once did you get? This is my first year doing the EEC, so I was looking for some information about what it would be like. I found the website below which gave a really good summary of what to expect. http://runningwithwishes.com/2013/05/07/chasing-the-yeti-expedition-everest-challenge-recap/
One disappointing thing about that site is that before I read it, I felt confident in my puzzle-solving abilities. But after working on the clues for WAY too long and only figuring out ONE of them, I am starting to doubt myself! Lil' help, anyone???
By the way, if any of you want to meet up on Friday before the race, check out my thread below.

From people who have done this before. What are the post race refreshments? I mean. We still need to bring a credit card for pretzels I'm guessing? It's just a banana or something?
So. I signed up for my first ever running event and it's the Everest 5K. I have a few questions
I hear this is really a 10k? You do the actual running then the scavenger hunt?
If I drive and leave my bag in my car. Can I get it after the race? Or do I have to check it in
I really want to do the ToT 10-Miler in October. I have never done much endurance running before and I think I am pretty out of shape. Does 10 months to train for the 10-miler seem sufficient? I feel like I am more apt to continue training if I drop $150 on the race.
TeresaJoy, I figured out the second one.
I know the answers to the other ones now, but don't read below if you want to figure them out for yourself!
The first one I definitely overthought. I looked and looked for a pattern, when it turns out the zeros just make the shape of two letters which indicate a direction.
The second one you figured out. You just follow the capital letters from left to right, regardless of which line they are in.
The third one you also got, but I went math-crazy with it. Once I thought about the 19th and 23rd letters in the 26 letters of the alphabet, it was simple.
The fourth one spells out the answer when you take three letters from each line in a column beginning with the "nor" in normally.
I hope I start figuring these things out more quickly before May, or this race is going to take me forever!
If they operate it the same as last year, there were no balloon ladies like they have for the longer races. I would assume that is due to this being raced in the parking lot and the park itself.
So I doubt you would have to worry about getting pulled if you were over the min pace. I was concerned myself about the pace so hope that eases your mind. Have a blast with it!
Hi! I am looking for 2 bibs for the Everest Challenge. I ran it back in 2012 and have now completed many other races including the Glass Slipper Challenge this past weekend! My mom wants to start running and this race would be perfect for us but, of course, it's sold out.
PLEASE message me if you or anyone you know is looking to sell their bibs! Thanks so much!!!
