expedia booking in CDN funds - your experience?

Looking around and found a fantastic rate at a quaint boutique style hotel in old san juan - the price quoted and charged was in canadian funds. It was actually slightly less than the other property we have booked in USD, even before factoring in exchange rates. Does anyone here have experience with expedia - should we worry that we are being duped? You know what they say, if it's too good to be true....TIA!

Expedia is pretty reliable as far as their service goes but you may want to read tripadvisor reviews for the property in question. I hope it works out for you.

I've booked with Expedia before and their rates are usually average but I've found sometimes they have really great rates on a particular hotel. The ones that are usually the really good bargains may not be the perfect hotel but usually the price is still great for what you are getting.

bonus tip: go to expedia through the airmiles shops and you'll get a mile for every $35 you spend.

We booked one of our Orlando trips through Expedia (flight + hotel) and it worked out fine. No problems at all.

I agree with thr33boys, though....check Tripadvisor to be sure the great rate isn't a result of it being a less-than-desirable property.

OP, if you collect ebates, you can also get cash back on trips booked through Expedia.

I often use Expedia and have never had any concerns, even when cancelling a booking. As long as you're using Expedia.ca, quotes should generally be in CAD over USD.

Last year I booked our Disney resort via the UK Expedia site. It was in pounds, but even with the conversion we saved $700+ over what it would have cost us converting US$ to CDN$. No issues at all. May be worth taking a peek to see if there is a deal for the same hotel/resort on the UK site.
