When I arrive at my new "home" OKW in May I will expect a beautifully clean 2br villa to spend my vacation in . When I leave....since this is my "home" now are there any expectations?? Do I need to do dishes before leaving? Vacuum? Empty the garbage? Just wondering. These ARE things I need to do when renting condos/summer homes up at the lakes in Wisconsin.
Thanks

Our family puts all of the towels in the laundry basket...we also empty the fridge, toss all used soaps, shampoos etc, bundle up garbages and run the dishwasher.

I don't really do anything else because I figure Mousekeeping will need to handle everything else anyway :tinker:

Leave it generally clean. I try to do the same as the previous poster but not much more. Start a load of laundry and run the dishwasher, if you have soap. I don't vacuum, strip the beds, mop the floor etc....,

DVC does not have any established things that have to be done.

We do try to start the dishwasher, clean out the fridge and gather towels into one spot and general leave things neat and easier for housekeeping to clean.

Start a load of laundry? Don't launder towels or bed sheets in the room when you leave, Disney has a central area for that. I don't think they would use them from the room washer because of sanitizing rules.

I generally gather the trash into the main can, start the dishwasher. If the sleeper sofa was used, we leave the sheets off of it so that they know they were used.

Like other poster we strip the beds, gather the trash and towels, clean out the fridge and yes lastly run the dishwasher.

I do the same as everyone else. Empty all trash into large can, pick up soaps and loose shampoos from the bathrooms, empty fridge, run diswasher, and strip beds and pile up towels. I do not do the floors. Just in case, you have an experience like all of mine, the last thing you will find is a "beautifully clean villa".

I rent a rug shampooer and hit the carpets..

Gosh, Dave, are you really that much of a pig??? I didn't think you were that way....

Did you really mean to say start a load of laundry? They don't wash the towels/sheets in the villa washers. They are all done in a commercial style laundry.

I loaded the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and started it before we left the villa on our last trip on the day we had a full cleaning and they ran it again, but added the coffee pot to the load. So now I'm not going to run the dishwasher, but I will load it all up.

Thanks. I guess this really answers my question. Lots of things to help out mousekeeping but all up to me on what I think is "proper exiting" Can't wait for that 1st day:) hate the last :(

Now that made me laugh!

I dont go overboard, but i do try to make sure all trash is done and dishes are clean. I figure if everyone pitches in, the less mousekeeping is needed, the lower our dues will be.
