Expanding existing DVC Properties?

Just a curious question, would Disney ever (or have they) consider expanding current DVC sites? It seems that a lot of people love VWL, and since I believe it is one of the smaller properties (room wise), would they ever consider expanding VWL.

Or lets say after SSR is completed, rather than building a new property (if that is in the works), do any of the current DVC properties have enough room to expand?

The only actual "expansion", (though they were originally planned), were when the sales center moves to a new location and that area is converted into DVC units. This has happened at OKW (3 new buildings were built) and is about to happen at BWV when the sales center moves to SSR.

I think if VWL were to be expanded, the new unit(s) would probably fall under the new end date, and maybe be called VWL two. I really don't see that happening, though. I think we are more likely to see villas added to the Contemporary. But we won't see any new DVC construction until SSR is finished (or nearly finished) and almost sold out. That will take several years.

Eagle Pines (near the golf course) was announced as the next DVC resort before SSR was launched. The company might return to that plan once SSR is filled out. But who knows? Not us!

I don't see how they could do much of an expansion at VWL. The reason it is so small is because of the lack of space in the first place. I'm quite sure that Disney would have loved to have made VWL much larger. BCV too for that matter. They each sold out very quickly!

I don't think we'll see expansion of existing DVC resorts...but that's just an opinion.

Technicall I think they could expand or even do a totally different DVC at the same site but I suspect it's VERY unlikely.
