Exotic Driving Experience

Thanks, R2-JD! Appreciate the fast response. :)

Can anyone tell me if height is a problem for any of these cars? I would like to get this for my son for when we go down in January. He's 6'2", most of his 'height' is in his legs...do you think there would be any problem fitting in?

Im 6'3 and had to hunch a little bit in the F458. I did have the seat all the way back and the back leaned all the way back as well. My bil is 6'3 also and drove the superleggera and he complained that his helmet was on the roof and the seat did not tilt at all. More like a racing seat.

Can someone tell me how I would get there using the transportation from the hotel? I am staying on site and will be using the transportation the hotel provides. I bought my BF a ride along for the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Are they one in the same track? I know he wants to experience the Exotic Driving Experience as well. Help?

I am no help on how to get there from the resorts because we rented a car. I purchased the Exotic Driving Experience for my hubby for our 5th anniversary this past Dec. He drove the Ferrari. The Richard Petty Driving Experience and the Exotic Driving Experience are two seperate things. They are both at the same track, but they schedule them at seperate times. Everyone is welcome to come watch the cars. It can get hot out in the viewing area because there is no shade over the bleachers.

We had a rental car as well but if it were me I would talk to the front desk or concierge at your hotel as soon as you check in to set up transportion to the track. I checked the FAQ section of the Exotic Driving Experience(EDE) site and couldn't see information on hotel transportation. If you want to verify before you get there, call EDE's toll free number or submit a question on there contact us page. They used to have a live chat function on the site but it may only show up on the site during business hours. I used it twice before my trip and the people I dealt with were really helpful and friendly.

thanks for all the info! I am going to surprise my husband with this when he gets back from Afghanistan. I think he will LOVE it! :cool1:

I just booked the Audi R8 for my husbands Anniversary present in Sept. I cant wait to tell him!

Awesome! He will have a blast! Take lots of photos and video!

DW and I are going to be there in September for our 20th Anniversary and I plan on going again. I wanted to drive the Nissan GT-R but it won't be there at that time. I am will most likely drive the R8 as well.

How long does the EDE take? I am planning to surprise my husband in October and trying to decide which time to book - sleep in vs a little more time to relax in the afternoon before the 2 of us hit MNSSHP ;)

Takes about 2-2.5 hours total, although you're having so much fun that it's over in a blink of an eye!

Some photos from when I did it back in November:

Angrypenguin beat me to it and is correct. It takes approximately 2-2.5 hours from the time you arrive to the time you are leaving. The time in the car is around 10 minutes tops.

My first time was longer as I did the first time slot in the morning and we had to wait for parts of the track to dry up.

I completely forgot to update the thread with pics from our September trip.

For my second time doing EDE, I got to drive the Lamborghini Gallardo.

The Gallardo was fun. I got it up to 124MPH which was faster than I did in the Ferrari 458 (119MPH). But the 458 is so much more refined and amazing.

Just thought of one more question. I understand that a shuttle will pick you up from the Ticket and Transportation Center to take you to the track. Do you have to wait on all members of your group/time slot to finish prior to the shuttle returning you to the TTC?

I surprised my fiance with a 6 lap package in the GTR (his dream car) - he cannot wait to go to Disney now - :rotfl:

How often does the shuttle run from the TTC? We are hoping to get to the TTC for 9am and get to the track by 9:30am (his arrival time is 10am but I was advised to arrive for 9:30am to get his paperwork in order). Do you think we'll have any problems getting the shuttle in time?
