I have been wanting to do this since it opened and now that is closing am seriously contemplating it for our trip in a couple of weeks. It would only be me doing it though. What I am wondering is if DH wanted to watch and take some pictures is that something that is possible without him taking the experience?

In the FAQ on the Exotic website:

Can family and friends come along?
Absolutely! At the Exotics Course at Walt Disney World® Speedway, we have a specially constructed spectator grandstand viewing area that allows friends and family to see the entire layout of the course. They are welcome to bring video recorders and cameras to help commemorate your experience.

Thanks for the response! Clearly I need to look closer because I was searching online before posting lol!

Better hurry though. Rumor has it that the Track is going to be removed in the near future.

The FAQ section was hard to find. Tiny lettering.

Glad you already knew it's closing (yep I saw that in your OP). :)

Yes I just did this with my BF in January. He drove and I took pics of him standing next to the car and then you have to walk across the parking lot to the spectator seating area to get good pics of them driving the car. But I suggest you wait till actually see him get into the car before you walk across the lot. If 3 people are driving the same car you don't know which order they will drive it in if you don't wait to see when he gets in it. 2 were driving the car my BF was in but he was first so I knew when to walk to the across the lot to the other side.

Anyone know why it's closing? I'm sure my oldest son is glad he did it the last time we were there. Although my other two boys will be very disappointed, they probably figured that it was going to be their graduation present too.

Closing for "transportation improvements" apprently. Likely to be new access roads for parking lots, or new car parks themselves.

They haven't given any specific reason for it closing, but, originally they hoped to actually attract big time racing there, but, it never really worked out and it is a huge piece of property when you consider how little usage it gets. I have wondered why they took so long to shut it down. Probably waited until the depreciation was taken or something financial like that.

My husband participated in the Exotic Driving Experience at WDW in January. I went with him, and was able to stay with him through the whole thing, except when he was driving. Significant others even go into the classroom segment with the drivers before the drive actually begins. Once he was ready to drive, I took photos of him getting in the car, then ran over across the parking lot to an "observation area" to take more photos. This area is beside the road course-segment of the track, so they're driving a little slower at this point, which helped me to get better photos. He got out of the car with the BIGGEST grin on his face, and said he loved everything about it. So, highly recommended! The employees we encountered were great as well. One thing they did mention-if you go this summer, try to schedule a morning session. They commented on how the cars tend to have more issues when the heat is really bad during the summer. Let me know if you have any other questions!

We are definitely bumming from the news. I got an official email from Exotic Cars that they will be closing June 28, 2015 for Transportation expansion purposes. My husband did the GTR 2 years ago and he was so happy. He really wanted to do the lambo superleggera this time but it looks like we will be missing it :(
They will be doing stuff in Daytona.
