Hi All,

Has anyone taken advantage of the workout classes (pilates and/or yoga)? Any of the other classes offered? If so, did you like them? Which did you like the most? Does it still cost per class or is it free now? I am sailing 2/5 and want to know if it is worth making the time to exercise off the previous night's dessert. :-)

Thanks,

Renée

When I cruised in 2003 they didn't have any yoga or pilates classes! Honestly, I didn't know they added them. I will defintely take advantage of that on our cruise next year!

Neither did I but I did use the health club everyday during the day. Average equipment and tight quarters but a great view, was not crowded and something serene about it.

There's always walking Deck 4. And my favorite - ALWAYS take the stairs!! They're not classes - but a way of life.

I did the yoga on the beach at CC, and also the kickboxing and step classes on the ship. They had been charging $10 per class, but they stopped (thankfully!) The classes are good, not great, but they will do the job! They are set up to be beginner level and pretty basic, but as with everything, you get out what you put into it. Both the kickboxing and step classes were about 30 minutes of cardio, combined with resistance or abs for about 5 minutes. Keep in mind if they offer the classes more than once during the week, it is the same exact routine.
I don't do yoga at home typically, but I had no problems with all but one of the poses (I'll blame it on the sand at Serenity Bay  ), but it was nice and relaxing! A very nice way to wrap up your cruise!

Thank you for the reply. It was exactly what I was looking for. The yoga at Serenity Bay sounds fun/ I'll have to try it!

Take care,
Renée

I forget the exact time, but it was maybe around 1000-10:30....most folks were just getting settled on the beach as we were in the middle of it. You could see some people just looking at us thinking, "what in gods name are they doing?!" But it was so very nice!

Can one jog on the walking deck and is it an actual lap around the ship or up and back? If it is a lap, any idea how many equal a mile?
While on the fitness subject, does the fitness center have showers and lockers or is that part of the spa (not accessable unless having a treatment that day)?

Thanks o'knowedgeable ones!

Funny you should ask. I'm a walker and I took a picture of the sign that was on the Disney Wonder. This is the information about deck 4's "Jogging Tack":

1 Lap = 535 m or 0.33 mile
2 Laps = 1.07 km or 0.66 mile
3 Laps = 1.60 km or 1 mile
4 Laps = 2.14 km or 1.32 miles
