I was excited to see that there was yoga at the beach, although I was sad to see that it has become a "for fee" event. Has anyone tried the yoga or exercise classes?

I did the early morning stretch. It was ok, not great but nice to be out at the beach doing it as the day began...

I've done the sunrise yoga (when it was free). They held it on the grassy areas in front of the beach and provided yoga mats. If you got there late you were out of luck and had to use a towel. The yoga was at a beginner level, although probably not for someone that has never done it before. The instructor didn't give a lot of direction, so you had to have some familiarity with the basic poses. I saw quite a few people who weren't doing the poses quite right and she didn't walk around and try and help correct them (like in my yoga class at home). I've done basic yoga poses before so I was fine with the level. I enjoyed watching the waves and palm trees while doing the yoga. I didn't even close my eyes like asked cause the views were too beautiful. If I went back, I'd probably be willing to pay for the classes if necessary.

I have done it when it was free and it was packed. I imagine this is why they charge for it now, because there was just way too many people so it wasn't an enjoyable experience. Like the pp said, not enough space or mats, and way too many people for the instructor to actually try to help out individuals who weren't doing the poses properly. The setting is beautiful though, and if the Class size was small and the fee was minimal I might try it again. I have to say though that I enjoyed my early morning walk/run along the beach path at lot more. Hardly anyone out so early, very serene, and free :)

I did a bunch of the free classes- mostly the TRX and the splash n' dash. They were great!

Thanks for the feedback. I plan on trying some exercise classes most mornings. Since I'm coming from NJ, I know my time clock will have me up nice & early.
I've recently had a weight "blip" & I'm working to get back in control. I have tried to keep an exercise routine during past vacations & I'm hoping these classes will allow me to experience some great dining without undoing my recent hard work.
If I don't like the classes, I may follow PP suggestion of an early AM walk on the beach

The free stretch and boot camp classes were nice since they are held on the grassy area near the beach. You start before the sun rises and can watch the lights come up. The classes seemed a bit short though because there's a little bit of waiting around for people to show up at the beginning. They alternated the workouts and stretches day to day so you don't get too much of one activity through your stay. It wasn't packed when we were there over NYE a couple months ago.
