I am new to this board, but not to the DIS.
I got membership to the local YMCA for my 46th birthday and have been loving it. I am a former figure skater, so exercise is not an unusual thing for me, but I have not really exercised regularly in several years.
My partner and I started our new exercise routine one week ago and we are doing really well. I have been getting to the Y 3 days each week. I met with a personal trainer (included with membership, for up to 6 sessions) on Wednesday and he showed me lots of the machines and developed an exercise regimen for me.
So, yesterday I walked a mile, did my 11 machines and 4, 6 step crunches with an exercise ball, and then walked another mile with 5 lb. weights. I am trying really hard to include at least one extra of something each time I go.
Exercise can be fun!
