Does anyone have any experience with Exercise Induced Rhinitis (EIR)?
I just finished the C25K program
and was looking forward to the Princess Half in February. But all through the C25K program I would do a hard run and then be out of comission for days because of sneezing and major congestion. Does anyone here have this or know someone that has this and has run with it successfully? If so, what steps have you taken to alleviate it?
I enjoy running, and want to complete the goal I set for myself, but I feel like I'm doing something detrimental to my body when I am put out of commission for days. I'm not willing to be put on any regular medication, as I began running to improve my health and for me part of that is not being on meds. I'm thinking the Princess Half is not in the cards for me, because I'm not going to have time to effectively train if I have to constantly take days off due to EIR and the trigger seems to be hard runs where I really push myself (which I'll be constantly doing training for a 1/2). And lastly, I guess being a newbie I don't love running enough to run and be miserable for 2-3 days after each run.
