Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Oh, my Lisa! Sorry to hear about your encounter with Deputy Barney and Deputy Fife! How scary!!! I thought for sure that they had seen John with whatever tool he had grabbed from the truck (I pictured a crowbar) and had thought he was the bad guy!

Loved your updates about Toy Story and Backlot Tour.

I bet Jesse loved it! What a pain in the rear that you had to witness an out of control youngster and his rude, oblivious parents! One of my most delightful waits in the TSM line was when a 4 year old boy named Paul talked to my son Ben and me the whole time, asking questions like where we were staying and inviting us to visit him at the Boardwalk.

We love the Backlot Tour! Ben, especially. I am so sad to hear that it may be gone! I don't have much of a chance to hang out on the theme park boards, so I hadn't heard that news. :(

Love all your pictures of TSM! We still haven't made it through the queue yet as we have always used fastpasses. It looks adorable! Sorry about the long wait but it looks like Lacey and Jesse didn't mind...great picture!!:thumbsup2

We've only been on the Backlot Tour once and even though we enjoyed it, we've never been back.:confused3 Glad to hear Jesse enjoyed it!

I couldn't ride Backlot Tour last time I went as it was being refurbished. It isn't as nice as it used to be, but I still enjoy it and plan on doing it again this trip, especially since there are rumors it will be gone soon.

I like that Kermit hat! I'm not big on hats so I'd never wear it, but it is cute.

Great update once again!! Hunter is so funny! I think the Kermit hat would've been a good choice for him!

The Backlot tour is fun the first time you do it...after that the element of surprise is gone and it loses something. Great pics though! :)

The Kermit hat is great! :thumbsup2

I didn't know you could even take your stroller on that ride. I bet it was kind of annoying. :confused3

I haven't been on that for several years and the last time I was, it was broken. It's now closed and rumor is it won't be back, so good thing you got a last ride on it.

I am getting so excited to be there and your pictures are fueling the fire!!!!

Hello Mrs. I Am Official On Vacation! I didn't know that they could take the stroller either and I am pretty sure that it's not supposed to be put on the front of the tram either.

No Fancy Graphics, but

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Thank You! Happy belated Halloween to you!

Great update, Lisa. We've not done the Backlot Tour for a number of years (probably since 2008) because we just felt since they removed parts of it and haven't updated it, that it just didn't hold as much appeal. But I want to be sure to see it in August next year if it's still there since rumor has it that it will be going "bye-bye" for the new Cars area.

Glad Jesse enjoyed it.

And since when do we park strollers there????? That so easily could have slipped and landed on your lap. :confused3

Do you remember back in the day when the backlot tour had the houses from various television shows? My Mama still talks about the Golden Girl House.

I had never seen anybody take a stroller on the tram and thought it was pretty odd that the castmembers didn't say anything.

What a scary thing to happen at night! We had a peeping Tom when I was 15, my parents weren't home (at work) and we had the sheriff's department at the house looking at foot prints, my Dad came home freaking cuz her didn't know what was going on.
Needless to say, hearing your story gives my the willies!:scared:

Love the Toy Story Dash!!!! I can't wait to do it again! Soon.:thumbsup2

Mrs. I Just Surprised My Daughter With A Trip To Walt Disney World, I bet your daddy was freaking out!

Wow, what a scare that must have been!

I swear I get tired just reading about all your home improvements, how exciting and rewarding though!

It was pretty scary. Of course, afterwards, we were laughing about the expressions on each other's faces when we thought somebody was out there.

Lucky for us, a log home really isn't that much maintenance. We only have to touch up the outside every 7 years or so. The other improvements that we are making are simply "just because". Next up on the list is Hunter's bedroom.

But he looks so cute in it!! Great update!

He does doesn't he!

Yeah, it does kinda lose it's appeal after a couple of times but we always find ourselves doing it every year.

Isn't the Kermit hat cute? I just bought two Beaker hats from Disney Deals for just $12.50 each.

Great update once again!! Hunter is so funny! I think the Kermit hat would've been a good choice for him!

Hunter is a nut case for sure! I think he should be an actor or comedian when he grows up.

Like I said above, even though we aren't really "wowed" by the Backlot Tour any more, we still do it every year.

The Kermit hat was really cute but it was kind of pricey.

In hindsight, we probably should have just gotten Fastpasses but at least we were able to see all the cool props.

It's so funny that you mentioned Barney Fife. We called them the same thing! After we thought about it, they may have thought John was the intruder but they didn't say anything about that possibility when they came to the door. Who knows?

I am a kid lover through and through. I can take it when an adult doesn't like me but when a kid is stand offish, it bothers me to no end. Like you, I enjoy it when we get to interact with others in the line and they are nice to be around. This kid was pure terror and his parents weren't doing a thing to make him stop.

First off, hat's off to you for all the work you do on your house. :worship: We have A shelf to install and it's stressing me out.

Second, that intruder story has me :scared1:. Last night I had my own little spooky incident. Ron was asleep and I was washing the baby bottles. Suddenly I hear a man's voice behind me. I get startled, because "I didn't hear Ron get up" I think, only to turn around and there is no one. The tv was off, and I seriously doubt Peanut could make that kind of noise. I seriously have no clue what I heard, but it spooked me out!

I am very thankful that John and I are able to do the work. I shudder to think what it would cost if we had to pay someone to do the work for us.

Oh my! Do you think it was a ghost? I'm sure that you remember we have several here at our office.

Wow, what a weekend...that would have scared the pants right off me.

I am loving your update. John reminds me of a certain someone I know who is as slow as molasses in getting anywhere and SHE has been told that we are leaving without her on the December trip if she's NOT ready when we are leaving. I'm talking about Des...Andy's girlfriend. Drives me totally insane.

Jesse and Lacey look like they are ready to go to war on the game, and Hunter is already practicing pulling that string. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

What is it with parents not taking responsiblity and dealing with a child like that? I guarantee you if some other child was doing that and bumped them or their kid they'd be having a moo moo cow!

All I can say is "good luck" on trying to get the slowpoke outta bed and to the parks. I can not stand that and I try my best not to show it.

I agree. Had somebody been bumping into their kid, they would have had a hissy fit!

Wow that is insane about the crazy robber on the loose...glad that you guys were okay and had no run-ins with this person . Also I like getting new stuff done to the house so I am super jealous of you guys! Everytime we have any extra funds we just end up going back to Disney so getting to do both would be :cloud9:. Thanks for the update too!! Love TSM....someday I will do stand by instead of fastpass so I can see all the cool stuff in the que!

I'll be happy when we get all of the work done around the house but, you and I both know, that the work is never done when you're a home owner.

Long time lurker here but I just have to comment on the boy not waiting patiently in line and the parents not doing anything about it. That's one of my pet peeves! I dated a guy that had 2 little girls who were 4 & 2. We went to see Santa and they tore apart the display. They were throwing the fake snow every where, bumping into people, etc. I asked the guy I was dating if he was going to put a stop to their shenanigans and he said "no, they are just kids. They don't know how to stand in line." um, isn't that your job as the parent to teach them to be patient and stand in line nicely?! I broke up with him that afternoon!

Love your trip reports!

Yay for coming out of lurkdome! I hope that you do it more often. Those kids sound like the kids from heck. I don't blame you one bit for breaking up with the guy! There's nothing wrong with letting kids be kids but you don't let them be destructive and rude.

What a weekend! I would have been freaked out!

So sorry that you got stuck in a long line with an active kid and his questionable parents! That kind of thing drives me crazy. Nothing like parents teaching children that rules don't apply to them.

But, yea for a ride on TSMM!! Did Jesse love it?

We were freaked out! Never ever a dull moment around our house.

I never let my kids swing on the bars or pull on the ropes or chains while waiting in line. That's not to say that they didn't want to but I always told them to stop.

Jesse did love Toy Story Mania and it was well worth the 45 minute wait.

I was hoping the ride was walk on and not 45 minutes. Bummer.
I would be totally annoyed by the kid too.

The kid AND his parents were driving me crazy. I think the parents moreso than the kid.

My girls and I made it through Sandy without missing a day of power. THANK GOD!!! The part of Maryland we are in didn't get it to bad which I am so thankful. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who are still cleaning up and still without power.

With that said, glad you all are safe with the interruptions from your floor date. Sounds like man's best friend scared your intruder away. Your house must look so good with all the updates.

We haven't had the chance to ride Toy Story. It's been a long time since we have returned to the world but with fingers crossed we will make it there next year. Hunter, Jesse and Lacey look ready to go. Luv the pics!

Can't wait for another update!

Thank goodness that you are all safe and sound. I've been watching the news and looking at pictures of Sandy's aftermath and it's horrible.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that a Disney trip will happen for you in the next year!

Never a lack of excitement in your house I see! As usual! :rotfl:

Can't wait to ride Toy Story Mania again in April! Love the pic of Lacey and Jesse enjoying themselves...so cute.

You know us....always a wild time around the house!

I'm so excited that you were able to work out a trip to Disney and a cruise too!

So glad that noone was harmed during the "robber gone wild" in your neighborhood. And those police were really lucky John wasn't a gun wielding crazed lunatic who came out shooting!
Great update once again! That TSM Dash can get dangerous.:lmao:I remember one year being run off the street into a garbage can by a mad scooter on the way to the ride. All I kept thinking was Geesh, you can't even go the same way once you get there since you WON'T be doing the stairs! :rotfl:
This last visit, they didn't corral the crowd at the end of the street once you'd entered after the turnstiles, so the dash was only half as crazy. Much better way to let you enter the park IMHO.

They certainly were lucky that John didn't have time to make it to the gun cabinet before they yelled out "Sheriff's Office!" The dumb bunnies!

Yikes! John once had a run-in with a scooter and ended up with a broken toe.

Happy Halloween

Thanks Kathy!

Thank you, I now have Monster Mash stuck in my head! :rotfl2:

That is one BIG benefit to doing solo trips, since I don't have to wait for anyone to get up to get going. Last trip with my sisters was not like that at all. Neither of them are morning people, and I had to be on them constantly to get moving. And they WANTED to do RD so we could get more in, they just moved so sloooooooooowly.

Glad you made it on TSMM though. There is something about that line. Every time I have been in the standby line (probably 10-ish times? :confused3) there is a little kid around me using the bars as their own personal jungle gym, and not caring if they hit anyone. :worried:

I bet it's wonderful to jump up in the mornings and do whatever you want to do and not ask for anybody else's opinion. Bless John and Hunter's hearts, they are so slow and it takes John forever to get ready.

Sounds like you had an exciting weekend. - well, one exciting evening and then a weekend.

We didn't refloor anything, but we did reorganize and rearrange the living room this Sunday when DH realized that as it was, we would not have room for the Christmas Tree. But usually you realize it's all worth it when your room looks so much more like you want it to.

When we realised that DHS was so close to CBR, we made count of the turns. Depending on which way you were going, it's either two rights and a left or a right and two lefts. We ended up going back and forth three times one day (we always get the hopper option because, who knows what we'll end up doing!)

Yay for getting the living room rearranged. Isn't it amazing how moving some things around can make you feel so good.

I always forget how close the CBR is to Epcot and HS. It takes not time at all to get there.

Wow what a weekend.

It was definitely an exciting weekend but not in a very good way!

Good Afternoon!

This is my first post EVER on DISBOARDS! I'm a newbie so please excuse my "rookieness". I LOVE your trip report so far! I always read trip reports on DISBOARDS to get my Disney fix, however yours was so fabulous I just had to actually join the boards as a member so I could post a response! Thanks for keeping me entertained and sharing your stories, you're a fantastic writer! Also wanted to share that I hope you do keep your reservations at Coronado Springs, that is my FAV moderate resort for sure! AND all their rooms have been refurbished and I think they just look fabulous, more of a contemporary style. It is a beautiful resort, yes the walking can be awhile depending on where your room is. However the walks are just beautiful and I think that you are just going to LOVE staying there. I can't wait hear what you think of Coronado and of course I can't wait to hear more on this current trip report! Have a great FRIDAY!!!! :cheer2:

I'm glad that Jesse enjoyed the Backlot Tour! We always mean to do it, but don't. :confused3 In fact the last time we rode it was 9 years ago!

Love the Kermit hat! Those Muppet hats are a hoot!

I am very thankful that John and I are able to do the work. I shudder to think what it would cost if we had to pay someone to do the work for us.

Oh my! Do you think it was a ghost? I'm sure that you remember we have several here at our office.

Yes, I seem to remember you mentioning something about ghosts at your office. My first thought was that it was a ghost, but my cat was lying on the ground behind me completely oblivious to anything. So either it was a ghost of someone she knows or has seen often before and it's normal to her, or I hear voices in my head. :scratchin :rotfl2: Peanut often coos at *something*, so I'm thinking my mom or grandma are there.

Keith is slow in the mornings too and I still can't get him to understand the importance of doing the TSMM Dash!! The Backlot tour was closed for refurb this week and we were sad because we had planned to do it this go around! At least it appears you guys persevered despite the rain! :thumbsup2

Whew… I'm caught up! Can I please slow my life down a little, I'm trying to prepare for a trip to Disney World!!!! Just found out this week that my In Laws are coming to town this upcoming week… Sigh!

I'm glad that John was a little slow on the draw with those deputies in your yard! My daddy woulda done the same thing!

I really hope we can do Toy Story Mania this trip! Missed out last time- No fastpasses, because we got there late! This year though, I'm planning on being there early!

Great update and pics,

Not a fan of the backlot tour but you got some good shots.

As always am looking forward to more.

They asked my to do the backlot tour a couple of years ago. I was only 14 so couldn't do it but i don't i would have if i could too shy. My mum and dad did it and my mum got wetter even tho my dad was the one in the chair. :lmao:

Loving the trip report ;)

I was all the way back on page 103 but I'm caught up now. This past week was a busy one!

It sounds like you had a wonderful dinner at Ohana (except waiting for the bus to DTD. but it sounds like you all made waiting fun too.)

I can't believe you switched resorts!! I hope you enjoy the change. Are Lacey and Jesse staying there too?

About the incident while you were doing your floors:scared1: I don't think I would be able to relax after that. Did they ever catch him?

I can't believe the parents of that child at TSMM. Don't they know they are just hurting their child? When other parents see him acting that way they won't want their children playing with him. I know at least 3 kids that River has known over the years that I didn't want him around because the parents wouldn't discipline them.

It never would have entered my mind to bring a stroller on a ride when River was still small enough to be in one. They couldn't park it and walk through the cue:confused3

I can't wait to see what happens next!

Good morning! Happy Hump Day! I had every intention of posting replies and getting at least one update posted by now but it hasn't worked out that way. My boss took his mother to Houston to have some medical tests run so I thought for sure that I'd have some extra time on my hands. Yeah right! I should have known better. Chaos always ensues when you'd least expect it. I did get more pictures uploaded to Photobucket so at least that's done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll find a bit of time this afternoon to post.

Wow! What excitement in your backyard! That sounds about like something we'd do here. A few weeks ago Davis and I had just gone to bed - it was probably somewhere around midnight - when our doorbell rang. And our first instinct is - grab the gun!

As it turned out, it was the police at our door, too. It seems our backyard neighbors had called the police after seeing someone (Davis) in our backyard swinging a baseball bat (it was really a wiffle ball bat) and then noticing that our light was out. :rolleyes1

He was swinging the bat at acorns while taking Margot out to potty. :rotfl: Says he does it every night. Nosy neighbors, I guess, but at least they're keeping watch over us! :listen:

I love Toy Story Mania - haven't had the chance to ride it since 2010! :scared1: I guess we'll have to do the Toy Story Dash next time we're there!
