Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

As someone from Northeast LA, howdy to ya neighbor!
I know I'm late but I'm joining in! Loved your Magic Springs review, we just went for a weekend trip and I think my dh got sick of me saying "that'd NEVER happen @ Disney". I just can't help myself-nothing compares once you feel that magic

We always try not to, but we always end up comparing everywhere we go to Disney. It's just a habit I guess. Sounds like you had fun tho!!! That car ride thing looks like the Cheetah Chase at Busch Gardens. It's fun, but WOW!! Can pack a whollap.

That's funny about the changing areas as well. Military that's what they get all the time, just an area to pee, and no coverings on the stalls. Drove me crazy when I was in. Chris has it made now, he only has to share a bathroom with 3 other guys instead of 15-20!!! Boot Camp there were no stalls, just poles with shower heads on it. And you HAD to shower every day, and do it in like 5 seconds LOL No time to be modest!!

Love the little trip inside the trip report!! Looks like the anniversary weekend was awesome!! Chris just revealed what he wants to do for my birthday in January...I'll announce that near Christmas time I think :) Anyways, as always enjoy reading your updates, can't wait to find out what happens next!! :)

You are having a nice trip to Hot Springs. :cool1:

The amusement park looks fun, but the disorganiztion would DRIVE ME CRAZY!!!

That is just wrong that the rude lifeguard was exposing everyone in this family park to her foul drama. Even more than the language, I would be offended by the fact that she couldn't really be doing her job properly if she was all involved in her conversation.

Sounds like it was a good call to bail out of there for something to eat.

I hope John is feeling better and they get his meds adjusted!

I really can't believe its been a year for Lacey and Jesse. It seems like you were just telling us about all the wedding plans!

That's great news that mama doesn't need to have cataract surgery. I think my grandmother had to have a least two and it was no fun for her.

Your trip to Hot Springs looks fun so far. Some of those things in the bath house look like torture chambers!

Looking forward to hearing more!

So this might be weird-but were you at walmart in West Monroe today? I saw a lady that looked exactly like you in there. Of course i was too shy to go up and speak to you but I got so excited, my son said gosh mom you'd think you had seen a celebrity :rotfl: I tried to explain to him where I thought I knew you from your trip report pics but the more I tried to explain, the more he looked at me like a crazy creepy nut! Lol!

I sure was! I can't believe that you didn't come say something. Girl, any time you see me, say something. It's a super small world isn't it!?!

Sometimes it pays to be behind! You get more to catch up on!:lmao:

I'm so enjoying your Hot Springs adventures! The drawing is great and you guys are having so much fun. I'm so glad to see places through your "eyes".
The water park looks like a blast, but it's too bad you had to hear all the foul drama. I hope she learned from it or has been resigned to garbage duty.

Agree with others, Once you've been to Disney, all other parks don't have that shine.

Looks like you are a having a good time. Seems like a nice park to visit.

Great pics.

Glad you had a good day at Magic Springs!

I know you are brave for riding the Twist N'Shout! Last time we rode it we said "not doing that one again!" Seriously, we were glad we hadn't fallen off the track - that ride was the opposite of smooth times 1,000,000! Lol!

I enjoyed your Magic Springs updates. It reminded me a bit of Kings Dominion. Geez about the lifeguard! I would have complained too!

It sounds like the three of you were having a lot of fun!

I have no idea where in LA you are but I hope Isaac doesn't cause you any problems!

Not sure how I missed this update but I'm all caught up now. Your weekend getaway looks like so much fun. I love the mini-vacations but you are so right that there's no place like "home"!! WDW has stolen our hearts and there's just no comparison. Thanks for putting in so many details too. I think I would love touring the bath house myself and the gangster museum sounds pretty interesting! We own a timeshare and there's a place in Hot Springs that comes up. I've always wondered what there would be to do there. Now I know! (I do remember your report about the hotel there being so bad. I think that's the first trip report of yours that I read.) Can't wait to hear if you liked the concert. (Love the Newsboys!)

Lisa - are you batting down the hatches? Hope you are all safe and we will send a few prayers your way.

Thinking of you with the approaching hurricane. Not sure if you are going to get it but I said a prayer for you.In Vermont we get a lot of snow and 6 cold months but ususally avoid hurricanes and tornados and wildfires. Last year hurricane Irene hit the southern part of VT and it is stiull a mness. I have a church friend who has been going to Biloxi evey year since Katrina and they are still rebuilding.

Despite the inappropriate lifeguard, it seems like a pretty fun day! I love that kind of log ride, reminds me of the one at Knott's Berry Farm which has a very special spot in my heart.

The log ride was really something back when the park first opened and it holds a special place in my heart.

That park sounds nice though, even if it's not Disney! ;) I haven't been to another park since I was in college... Disney has my heart! :goodvibes

But I think i'd like to visit that little town some day! :) I'm all about history, so I'm itching to go and tour that bathhouse!

Yep, Disney knows how to do things right so it has my heart as well.

If you like history, then Hot Springs would be a good destination for you. It's not a place that I'd go and spend my entire vacation but there's enough for a long weekend for sure.

Howdy neighbor! It really is hard not to compare other theme parks to Disney but I just can't help myself.

It takes a very special person to join the military and I salute (no pun intended) you both!

Girl, you know that you can't keep the secret from us for 4 months! Inquiring minds want to know what he's got planned!

The disorganization was what got me the most. I wouldn't have minded waiting in the lines if they had the lines organized!

The lifeguard never took her eyes off the people in the lazy river and she was walking back and forth making sure that the guests were still moving along. Unfortunately, that meant that she was talking rather loudly during the times that she was further away from her friend.

I hope John is feeling better and they get his meds adjusted!

Thanks Kathy! Still no word from the doctor on John's blood work.

Isn't it crazy that they've been married a year already!?!

The trip to Hot Springs was a nice getaway and a complete change of scenery.

We had a great time in Hot Springs and it was a really nice getaway! Sometimes, you just need a change of scenery even if it isn't Disney!.

Looks like you are a having a good time. Seems like a nice park to visit.

Great pics.

It is a really neat place to visit and the town is just dripping in history.

Glad you had a good day at Magic Springs!

I'll never get on the Twist & Shout again! Never ever ever ever ever! It's horrible isn't it.

There was no way that I was going to let the lifeguard's behavior go without reporting her. I could have overlooked her talking with a friend had she not been cursing so.

We try to take at least two non-Disney mini-vacations a year. If you ever get a chance, I'd say go to Hot Springs. The town has so much history and there's plenty to do for a long weekend. If you do go, let me know and I can recommend some other things in the surrounding area.

I'm enjoy your Magic Springs trip report! But, wondering when Disney is gonna come back? :confused3

Soon! I promise!

Thanks! We are at the top of the State (about 275 miles from New Orleans) but we are still supposed to get bad weather from what I read on weather.com this morning. According to their site:

Tuesday: 30% isolated thunderstorms with 19 mph winds
Wednesday: 80% heavy rain with 24 mph winds
Thursday: 100% heavy rain with 23 mph winds
Friday: 70% thunderstorms with 13 mph winds
Sat: 30% isolated thunderstorms with 9 mph winds

I'm workingon the last portion of the Hot Springs trip and then will move back to talk of Disney. There are also some additional plans in the works for our 2013 trip but they aren't finalized. As soon as they are, I'll fill ya'll in.
