Excuse me, you'll need to see security. What has Mickeystoontown done? Update 3/25x2

Oh my gosh, this is so much food but it’s so good!

When I left off on my last installment, we were pondering whether or not to try something new or go with the old reliable. Actually, we did both. ;)

John tried something new which was the tomato soup. Description as posted on Allearsnet.com:
Lava Tomato Basil Soup - garnished with Parmesan cheese $6.99

Oh my geeze flip flopping Louise, the tomato soup was goooood! I’ve always been a fan of tomato soup and this one ranked right up there on the top of my list. I could have ordered just a bowl of that soup and I would have been happy.

Hunter went with the old reliable burger but was living on the wild side when he decided to not have them cut the mayo, lettuce and pickle. This was really something for Mr. Picky Eater who likes his burgers with nothing but ketchup and mustard. Oh and the description from Allearsnet.com: Bronto Burger - A 100% beef burger piled high with a fried onion ring, pickles, lettuce, tomato and your choice of cheese. $13.49

Hunter’s burger:

John ordered the gigantosaurus burger which was humongous. Gigantosaurus Burger - A true carnivore's delight. A second 100% beef patty added to the Bronto Burger with your choice of cheese. $16.99

I went with the old reliable.....the appetizer sampler. I can never make up my mind what I want so I like sampling a little of this and a little of that. John promised that he’d help me eat it all because there’s simply too much food for one person. Description: Supersaurus Sampler - For an appetite as big as T-REX! Spinach and pepper jack queso with tortilla chips, Brachiosaurus Bruschetta, T-Rexadillas and Onion Rings $18.99

The sampler is brought out on a tall tiered thingie so I had to take several pictures:

Everything was exceptionally good and we were all stuffed by the time we finished up. Actually, I didn’t finish everything on my plates and John wasn’t any help since he was full from his gigantic burger and the tomato soup. I would have loved to take the leftovers to our room but we knew that we wouldn’t eat it that evening and we were leaving for the cruise the next morning. While John was settling the bill with our waiter, I made a trip to the bathroom where I simply had to take a picture of the neat hand dryers:

What can I say? I’m easily amused and the hand dryers amused me. :p

We wobbled our full bellied selves out of the restaurant and decided to stop in a store or two on the way out of Downtown Disney. We wobbled through Basin, we dawdled in Mickey Traders (which I finally found) and tip toed through the spice and tea store. Then, we were back at the bus stop which was now pretty crowded.

I think I mentioned before how I think that the DTD bus stops are confusing. If I didn’t mention it earlier, I just did. Anyway, they are confusing. You can’t really tell what side of the stop belongs to what resort so you don’t know where to stand. Tonight, there were several castmembers standing near the start of the bus stops asking which resort you were going to and then directing you to the correct stop.

I couldn’t help but notice that one of the value resort stops had a super long line that went all the way out to the beginning of the bus stop. :scared: They had sections roped off and we were directed to go behind the rope. We got a few “what the heck do you think you are doing” looks but that’s where the castmember told us to go so that’s where we went. There was another castmember at the end of the rope who confirmed that we were, indeed, in the right place. We waited about 10 minutes for a bus to come and we were on our way back to the Caribbean Beach Resort. We made the obligatory stop at Pleasure Island and, yes, we did have another driver switch. Even still, before too long, we were back at the resort and Hunter was hitching another type of ride:

My gosh! The boy ain’t nothing but arms, legs and feet, I’m telling ya’! If I thought I had problems finding him pants long enough last year, I can just imagine what it’s going to be like come Winter time. :worried:

When we got to the room, we packed up everything that we had left out. There were some dirty clothes that we wanted to go ahead and wash so that we wouldn’t have them packed away in our luggage while we were on the cruise. We already had a stinky car, no need to stink it up any more than we had to. Hunter said that he wanted to stay in the room for a while but that he’d join us on the beach later. John and I went down to the laundry room and put the clothes on to wash.

We called Mama to check in with her and make sure things were okay on the homefront. (They were.) John also called his brother and acted like a goofball. I swear those two act like little kids when they get on the phone. They talk all crazy and relive their childhood. You’d think they were 11 years old and lying in the bunkbeds again.

We eventually ended up lying in one of the hammocks together and talking about our upcoming cruise. :sail: Would it be everything we thought it would be? Would we like it? Would Hunter like it? Would we be cruise converts? Hunter came down a little while later and pulled up a lounge chair and he joined in on the conversation. He, too, was excited about the cruise and the rest of the vacation.

After about an hour or so, our clothes were done and we carried them back to the room. Tomorrow was the big day! We would be boarding the Disney Dream! :dance3:

**Up next: RinkyTinky said to bring change and lots of it! Grab the change bag, I see a toll booth!

OOOHHH that food looks so good! I can skip the burgers, but that soup and the appetizer sampler...YUM!!

Glad John and his brother have such a great relationship!

The food looked very yummi.

I don't like the hand dryers since all they do is get the dirt all over your hands instead of wiping the dirt off your hands.

I should never read a food installment when I've skipped lunch. Everything looks so good! That tomato basil soup sounds amazing.

Good luck with DTD busses! We didn't have any huge problems to and from there either this trip.

Making a mental note to make time for the hammocks on our next visit to CBR (I think we're converts!).

Can't wait to hear about the cruise!

Glad to see you updated. Looks like a great meal at T-Rex! I am a big tomato soup fan, too, and that one looks good, was it pretty creamy? The color makes it look that way.

I remember the few times we were at DTD last year that it seemed like every time we stopped at the Pleasure Island stop, there was a driver change, maybe they all change there? :confused3

Can't wait to get to the cruise part of your report! :cool1:

Holy Burger! I think my John would try that, but I could split that sucker between 3 people!

I like ordering sampler platters once in a while, you get of try lots of stuff!

I can't wait until your cruise!

oh, wow, that soup looks good! Even if it is 97* outside right now!

the onion rings don't look half bad, either!

So funny that Hunter's all legs, arms & feet. We tease my DS that he has giraffe legs & arms and clown feet all the time (nice parents, huh?). He just went into size 15 shoes and the last pair of jeans I bought him were 32x36 and those are now falling down (waist too big) and too short at the same time. do they even make 30x38s? I guess we'll find out when it's time for school shopping!

I think I had asked you this before, but you must have missed it. Do the CBR rooms have a clothes line in the showers? I'm trying to figure out if I should bring a few clothes pins to hang swimsuits up or not.

thanks, Lisa. Enjoyed your update, as always!

Your meal at T-REX looks awesome! The appetizer sampler plates are always a fun way to go!

Can't wait to hear what you thought of your cruise!

Oh my goodness I loved those hand dryers!:lmao: I think I stared at it and then thought, Wow! It's a hand dryer! I was in awe:rotfl2:

We got the sampler too I loved the bruschetta! We shared ours between 11 people though so I didn't get to eat as much as I wanted:rolleyes1

Im excited to read all about your cruise!

Add me to the list of people admiring that food! I'd love that tomato soup and the appetizer sampler. I'm definitely going to have to eat there next time I go!

Can't wait to read your next installment.

Mmmmm- LOVE T-REX!

Your food choices all look spectacular. How did Hunter like his enhanced burger?

What a nice quiet night when you got back to CBR- laundry, hammock and dreaming of a new experience!

We love T-Rex. The food is always delicious and the kids love the dinosaurs. My husband, Barry, loves the burgers there too. Next time I think that I will try the appetizer sampler. :thumbsup2

Great update. I can't wait to hear about the cruise!! I think that I would like to go on one someday, but I am not sure if I want to take the time away from the parks to do so. :confused3

I really thought I was reading my TR at times! T-Rex is Keith's favorite and we usually get the sampler and Madison always gets the Bronto Burger! I think I may try that tomato soup next week....it looks so good!!!
