How long at you actually at Nassua? What time do you disembark the boat and what time are you expected to be back? Has anyone been to Atlantis and actually done the aquarium, the "Digs" tour, or the waterpark? They look really neat but I am wondering if my kids would enjoy them. They are 9,6,and 7. I would love opinions on this.

I have been twice and never got off the ship! This time my DS 9 would like to see stingrays and sharks. Can you see them at the Dig and can you use the pools for one price? I have read about some getting day rooms but I don't want to spend more than excursions prices? Anyone having advice would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
E

My husband and I decided to get a day-room at Atlantis because we wanted full access to the pool, aquarium and the dig. We went with our 2-year old son and from what I understand about the DCL excursion, you do not have access to certain areas. We were given wrist bands to wear and these are required to tour some of the dig and to use the pools. There are staff members at doors and walkways who ask to see your wrist band and we did see people turned away because they did not have one.

I have to say that, although the room was expensive, we can't say enough good things about our experience. My son LOVED the pools and had a great time watching all of the fish in the aquarium. We spent about 6 hours there and will definitely do it again on our next Eastern Cruise-in our opinion, it's worth the extra money. We're currently planning a trip to Atlantis for Sept. and our son can't wait!

Hope this helps.

If you get a room at the Atlantis are the pool, aquarium, and DIGS admission free or is there a fee to access those areas in addition to your room fee? If you figure the room costs $250 or whatever and you get access for your whole family to all those areas, it may well be worth it. I am not sure also how long you have to explore Nassau so that would play into the equation as well.

It's all included with the price of the room. You might want to check with the Comfort Suites across the street. The rooms are a bit cheaper. We booked a room on our upcoming cruise for $192 + tax.

If we book at the Comfort Inn, is everything all still included?

Yes, the Atlantis allows guests of the Comfort Suites full access to their facilities.

We are traveling with family...has anyone split a room with others at the Comfort Suites?

Thanks!
E

The Comfort Suites only allows four people per room. You will only get four wristbands per room.

We just got back last week. We were on 3 day cruise. I booked a room at the Comfort Suite for $152 +tax but decided to cancel. I wanted a more relaxed day and thought it might be too cold to use the pools. We ended up going to the Spa at 9 am in the morning. We took the kids out and had quick lunch by the pool, took a taxi to Atlantis. It was around noon when we got there. The place was huge. There is not much you can see without paying. You could not even get out of the hotel and walk to the beach/pool. We paid $100 for the discovery atlantis tour. We ended up having the tour guide by ourself and one other family. The tour was very very good.

I would have used my comfort inn reservation if I could do it again. My boys are 9 and 6. They were dying to get in the pools and slides. It was too painful to explain to them that they cannot do that especially since there are so many pools and beaches. They kept asking if they can use "this one" They did play a little by the beach. There were lifeguards everywhere. But they did not stop them. It was very very cold and started raining heavy in the afternoon. Not many people were in the pool. But my boys would never hesitate to jump into cold water. We took a taxi back to the ship. Traffic can be bad in the afternoon. It was around 4 when we got back. We are really glad that we made the trip.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

Jane

Hi! We just did the Atlantis Beach Day on the 1/23-1/27 WONDER. IMO, it was worth it for OUR family. It was myself, DH and DS (age 4). It was not very warm on our day so playing in the lagoon area was perfect. It was somewhat sheltered from the wind and DS loved the ocean. He would have picked it over the pools any day. The aquariums were fantastic and we were able to tour "the Dig", predator lagoon aquarium and observe the stingrays in the large pools. Lunch was also included. We looked at the prices when we ordered and they were very expensive ($6.00 for a hamburger, not sure if that included fries or not). DH also had a $6.00 Budweiser :teeth: He didn't ask the price first. We were never denied access to any area, but, of course, we didn't go near the pools. We paid $165.00 for the three of us.
I did research on getting the day room. If we had a bigger family, that's what I would have done. I found a link here on DIS for smarterliving.com. If you do a search on Atlantis, you will find it. This was for booking a room at Comfort Suites. Since you have three children, you would probably have to get two rooms, but I think Atlantis allows five in a room, so that would be a better deal. The quote I got from Atlantis was $250 for the day room.
We really enjoyed our day. Good Luck!
