If my excursion is scheduled until noon, will I be back aboard at noon? If I want to book a 1:30 spa treatment will there be time to shower and grab lunch or will I be rushed? (1.5 hours is enough time if we're back on board by noon.)

Yes, give or take 15 minutes. The excursion time includes everything from the moment you start exiting the ship to the moment they drop you off at the terminal. Depending on the port, you might need to take a shuttle back to port (like at the military base in Key West) or a tender (at Grand Cayman) but most times, you’ll step off the tour vehicle, go through ID check and walk on the ship in a few minutes at the most.

I wouldn’t do it in case the excursion runs late—we had one in Cozumel return several hours late on our last cruise and we were not at a place where we could just grab a taxi so were stuck. On grand cayman, our excursion ended on time but we had a 10 minute walk back to port, 10 minutes to go through security and 30 mins or so for the tendering so it added up. Falmouth we were dropped back off at the port 15 mins after the scheduled time and it took around 20 minutes to m get through security and back to the ship.

The only time I have seen an excursion run late was years ago during a Panama Canal DCL cruise at the Acapulco port. The bus came flying into the dock 45 minutes late because it had a flat tire out in the boonies...but, but it was a DCL excursion and the ship, Magic, waited for it. I have to believe this is rare and chances are that you will be fine with your schedule. Marc D is right about tendering or shuttles to actually get to your ship's gangplank on time. Just a thought...

it's a DCL excursion so if it was late enough to miss it, I'd argue (I'd also argue if I had to miss lunch and it came back with no time to enjoy it).

BUT if the thing is it runs til noon and at noon you begin your return to the ship then it would be on me more. :) If you're back on the ship by noon it's on them.
