Hi! We will be sailing on a 4 night this spring that stops in Nassau. This will be our first Disney cruise which were so excited about. We’ve always sailed with Royal Caribbean and have stop a few times in Nassau already. In my opinion, It’s not my favorite port, but I do love a good beach. I was thinking of booking the balmoral excursion without lunch. Do you think it’s worth it? We cruised in August with my then 2.5 year old and did the excursion to the blue lagoon. We have been to the blue lagoon a time before that and she was content at the beach there. We’ve enjoyed it there but figured we would try something else this time. Is that excursion worth doing with my 3 year old or should we stick to staying on the boat?

While I haven't done it, trip advisor shows it generally favorable, especially for what I think you guys want to do, which is spend time at a beach. If it sounds like something you want to do, a boat ride, a beach, a boat ride why not?

You'll also likely hear from some posters here that you should just stay on the boat since it is your first time, yada yada. Do what your kid wants and what would be most fun for you and your family.

We chose to do an excursion when we got off, but it was not a beach (Junkanoo tour). We did a 4-night and stopped at Castaway Cay. If you have a stop at Castaway Cay, I wouldn't waste my time at a beach in Nassau IMO. There's a lot to explore/do on the boat that's already "paid for". Just my opinion for what it's worth.

If your son likes to swim you may want to get off the ship. Too many people stay on board in Nassau and Disney pools people soup. We've done the Hilton Day pass. It's an easy walk from the ship. They have a great pool, poolside lunch is excellent, and there is a decent beach overlooking the ships.
