Exciting times!

We were scheduled for the 9/25 Magic cruise... instead we are at hotel. We went and got water and food and then took a trip to Downtown Disney to at least get some Disney atmosphere (and a Disney Character Monopoly game to play tomorrow ). Being from Southern California where we don't often get rain, our kids were excited to see it raining. They actually went out of the McDonald's where we were to go out to dance in the rain.

The wind and rain have picked up now (about 1:30am) Being on California time still we are still awake - watching TV, trying to calm the antsy kids, and of course reading the DIS boards. There was quite a fight that broke out downstairs in the hotel bar. You would have thought the hurricane blew out some windows by all the screaming, but of course we knew the wind wasn't strong enough for that yet.

We sure hope that everything is a lot calmer come tomorrow and that bright sunny skies meet us for a great cruise come Monday. We sure need some "Magic". We are definitely of the opinion that we are going to make lemonade out of lemons. We are still on vacation, we are seeing first hand what the Floridians have had to live through, we are safe, and we are going to go on a fabulous 5 day cruise.

Hi goin'cruisin',

Great to see that you are making an adventure of your vacation! I know how exciting it is to visit FL from CA - we live in the Long Beach area of Southern CA and have been to Orlando twice, once for a 7 day DCL eastern Caribbean cruise. Now you get to see WDW in all its glory, it is awesome!!!

Wishing you a safe trip getting to the ship, not sure if I read if you will be boarding in Cape Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale.

We had a very relaxing day. Something about being confined to a hotel with not even shops open that provides for that. We spent time playing games, building forts, writing songs, reading and walking around looking at the hurricane through hotel windows. We rarely get time in our busy lives to do nothing. It was a nice day. I feel badly for those who had homes damaged from the hurricane though.

We will be driving to Fort Lauderdale tomorrow to board the ship at Port Everglades. We are disappointed that we won't be disembarking until midnight tomorrow. We will be sure to take advantage of all that the ship has to offer while we wait though.

Soon our signature of "Havin Fun in the Sun" will be accurate! Today it was fun in the hurricane.

Love your attitude! Sounds like they could have used a little of that at the bar, LOL! Have a great cruise! We are heading out 10/16 so we'd love to hear a report.

I posted under the "Live from the Magic" thread. We are having a great time. Off to shop in Cozumel and then go on the Fury Catamaran! Pirate night tonight!
