Excitement gone!!!

I am still ticked off about the Adventurers Club. I no longer go near DTD unless I have to. They get rid of my favorite thing and I'm supposed to embrace the "change?" I think not. The rest of it, eh. Not as good as it used to be but not bad either. The Haunted Mansion's still there and the Cava del Tequila is awesome.

Now, if they get rid of the food & wine festival that'll be it for me.

Say it ain't sooooooo......you r the best mod there is!!! Your info is amazing......Thank you for everything:):worship:

I felt the same way while planning our 2007 trip. Seemed most of the posts were complaints about awful service, no magic, rude cms, the place not being kept clean, etc. I thought, "I am not even sure I want to go". Well we did go and it was our best trip yet. Don't let the nay sayers worry you too much. There is indeed always going to be magic at WDW. It is all in your perspective. It will become what you make of it. Go and have a great trip!

I easily critique those changes I don't like but still have a good time when I go. I guess that I don't let these things affect my mood much.

Just decide to have a good time and you will!

Well I'm one of "us" and yeah some things change, but i'm one who tends to think about the haves not the have nots.
And there are plenty of other things to enjoy...which would be why I'm returning for the 6th year in a row and staying for 2 weeks. But...people have to understand that there are things that were part of other's traditions at WDW, that they will now miss. Allow them to be a bit cranky about it..it will pass.

Oh man...I hear ya. I was at AC on it's next to last night...couldn't get near it without waiting for hours on end on that last night. Sure wish it was still there. DTD is missing something now..it just doesn't feel the same. Feels more like a shopping mall, but Disneyfied.
But, there is plenty left in WDW to see and enjoy. There are always going to be things that are not there anymore, that some have gotten used to. But other things will take up the slack, and we will adjust.
The thing is....for every person that loves 'x' resort, there are going to be opposite posts. Same for restaurants and attractions. Nothing is going to be 100% perfect for everyone, all the time. That's what is so wonderful about WDW...there is usually something for just about everyone.

I think one of the greatest things about Disney is that there is something there for everyone, and the fact that everyone that visits do not have the same likes and dislikes. Personally, I could not stand the Adventurer's Club. Been there twice and could not see why others thought it was the greqatest. I do like the Haunted Mansion and walked through Cva del Tequila and think it looks great. The Food and WIne Festival is one of my favorite times of year. I was there 4 different times this year and am already looking forweard to next year.

I don't know if I'd call myself "grumpy," but I have made my fair share of posts about things I wasn't happy with.

I think, in general, it's easier for people to 1) remember the bad stuff, and 2) write about it.

My most recent trip was in September, and I've posted a few negative things about the EPCOT Segway tour. BUT... overall the tour itself was amazing, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

The same goes for the whole Disney experience. I will continue to make the trek to Disney until it gets to the point where it's a horrible trip every time. I don't ever see that happening.

If you're less excited about the magic, then I would definitely say to try out Disneyland. It's not the same experience, and there are also plenty of other things to do in LA. If you've never been, it's one of those places you should visit at least once. Combined with Disneyland for 2 or 3 days, you should have a great trip.

I also got to go to Tokyo Disneyland this year. We only spent one day (combined at both Parks), but also had an amazing trip to Tokyo and other parts of Japan.

I was outside from noon on the last day - it was kinda like having a party out there. Hot though.

Well, it IS a shopping mall.

Not worried. Me and the "rough crowd" will still be there eating our lettuce sandwiches and drinking from last year's refillable mugs. :thumbsup2

I am going Dec. 2 to 9 and plan to have a fabulous time regardless. We have QSDP and only one TS ressie - so other than that one meal, the whole trip will just be "do whatever, whenever."

Hey - we are in DisneyWorld. A bad day in Disneyworld is still better than a good day at work!

I will have to quit reading posts about changes at WDW as I really have lost interest in our upcoming trip. :sad2: We absolutely used to love WDW during the holiday season but are prepared for disappointment this time. Hope I am wrong!!! Otherwise, we may try DL next year.

Just got back Monday after spending a long weekend at WDW. Did Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Animal Kingdom, and a Day resort hopping.

It was the perfect vacation. Magic everywhere. Every castmember we talked to seemed glad to be there and helped us have a great time.

IGNORE grumpy people and complainers. If you look hard enough for an excuse to be unhappy, you'll always find it.

Cheers.

I think if you go with the expectation that it is going to be bad it will be bad. Don't worry about what others say just enjoy yourself and know that there are worst places you coudl be

I was feeling a little less excited myself a couple weeks ago...but its back!!! Back to can't wait and I know we are going to have our usual fantastic magical trip! :thumbsup2

Also...hitting DL is not such a bad idea to change things up sometimes.

I'm hoping that when we go, 1-28 to 02-04, that everyone will be extra happy cus it won't be so busy so we'll get treated like royalty. Well I can wish anyway...:wizard:

All of this because the stupid lights in Epcot are gone?

First of all, they were not stupid. Secondly, it is more than just the Lights of Winter - this is just the last straw! I have been visiting WDW during the holidays almost every year since 1999. It is unbelievable how much has disappeared during this time - those that don't attend that often would probably not notice. Read the posts - decorations, quality of food, etc. appears to be lacking!! BUT, I will try to enjoy the trip and hopefully, it will not be as disappointing as I expect. By the way, not everyone likes the same things so it is not necessary to be critical!

Just got back Monday and had a GREAT!!! trip. Very magical. Great Service, Great CM's. Just a wonderful trip. Don't let the naysayers ruin your trip:thumbsup2

No matter what happens, my trip will be extra special this year.

I am taking two wonderful friends, who work very hard at the place where I eat out quite often. One has been twice as a kid, but never stayed on-site. One has not only never been to the World, she has also not been on a vacation in about ten years. They are also both going to school full-time.

I am looking forward to showing them one of the most important places to me and giving them the vacation of their lives!

This will be our first trip during Christmas... the Magic will be there for us!!!
