This is my pre-trip report for my family of 5. I like to claim we go for the kids- Dot (9) who likes to be left in charge (conditionally) of her little brothers Gabriel and Charlie (3 and 1).

In a couple weeks on Friday I am going to pick up the kids from daycare and load daddy into the car to drive through the night until we arrive at POP aprox. 24 hours later. They don't know the plan, but it's not really a surprise because I've used a Disney trip (at an undisclosed time) to motivate my daughter to practice her math and writing over the summer. I suspect the massive amount of luggage and extra Disney paraphernalia may give it away before they even make it into their carseats. I'm not going to work that day but spending the day packing, napping and generally laying around the house because I can... and so driving is a bit safer.

After four resort changes, we've settled on a week at POP and 4 nights at the Yacht club- the compromise between the kids wanting the icons and me wanting to check out SAB. Even though we will be in town a full 12 days our tickets are youth education series, so limited to 8 park days which for some crazy reason put a HUGE cramp in my planning style. Maybe we will actually check out the mini golf this time. I look forward to not having every.single.exact.moment scheduled. I've got my recommended park schedules (even though they conflict) and have spent the past two years debating which days to go where and concluded that it probably won't matter too much so I really need to stop thinking about it.

During our first week (starting 8/20) I have planned out one complete day at each major park except MK- despite this being our obvious favorite in the past it gets cheated. On MK day DD has her class in the morning. Then the oldest two will get pirate makeovers and Charlie will receive his first haircut with DH. If I went there is no way he would sit for it. (literally, he has hypotonia and knows I baby him more, so he actually will not sit if he wants me to pick him up!)
During the last 6 days of our stay it's mostly up in the air besides a HWV breakfast, CP lunch and a dinner in Epcot. There is a bit of leeway for which day becomes park day #8, but I am certain we will end up in the MK for the whole thing, possibly just riding pooh over and over and over again. Last time we were walking on and we would repeat for most of an hour, then do the same with pirates and haunted mansion. I am afraid to let the kids go on IASW.

I expect our trip to have some extra hiccups in it because Gabriel is allergic to something in most prepared foods- wheat, soy, egg, dairy, peanut, walnut, pistachio, sesame, shrimp and buckwheat. I am so glad he doesn't have a problem with spices though- he is very easy to feed if you make it from basic ingredients... so I'm a little concerned at CS. But I'm packing cupcake holders to carry around babycakes and know that in the worst case, somebody will serve me some steamed veggies!

All together we have plans for:
T-rex,
Biergarden,
mama melrose,
the plaza,
tusker house,
crystal palace,
rose and crown,
cape may cafe

We will probably do a lot of eating at POP. I'm excited to try out sunshine seasons and columbia harbor house. (this is our first non-DxDDP trip, so CS is sort of new)

Depending on how well my phone works, I may even do a live report if people want to see it. :)

Last night I organized all of our snacks, dividing them by car trip and hotel stays.

I have a new Phineus and Ferb folder which is starting to collect paperwork, including photocopies of all of the gift cards in case something goes wrong.

One of the most exciting moments leading up to this trip came last night, when my 3 year old was lying in bed with me. He was telling me how Mickey lives at Disney, and goofy lives at Disney... and I asked if he knew what else Disney world had. He looked at me all wide eyed and waited - "Disney has safe food, and special food people who can make food good and safe for Gabe" He got a huge smile while his eyes actually teared up. I've never seen a kid do that before. It was so sweet!

Mickey mail still hasn't come. 9 days till we leave!
