Excited! Booked trip for first full week December

Right at 11 months at 8am this morning- I knew chances were slim to get a value studio at AKV for a very busy DVC time for Dec 5-12th- But I GOT IT! I know it may be tight but we don't spend much time in the room and kids don't mind sharing a bed. I'm in disbelief that the whole week is only 69 points- making a little sacrifice in the space dept so that we can book a stay in a one bedroom over summer at HHI.

Again- the insight from all of you has been incredibly useful and helpful so THANK YOU!

We happened to get a AKV value at that time last year.

It was a confirmed reservation rental and I knew that if we didn't jump on it we would never have the opportunity again. It was a wonderful trip, so much so that we considered buying a AKV resale to be able to repeat the experience.

Now I realize it was basically a fluke and how really fierce the competition is for these rooms at that time. So we booked BCV for this year and just booked it for the same time next year.

Thank You!!!! I really didn't think I was going to get it- and was tempted to not even bother checking- but so glad I did. Once it came up I typed in the info as fast as I could in fear that the system would tell me it was kidding and not really available

I did the same this morning! Sort of,...booked a standard view studio at BLT (home) within seconds of the window opening for December 5-11th. 86 points to be within walking distance of MK for a week is pretty good. We may try at 7 months to split some of the week at VWL, but we'd be pleased as punch to stay at BLT for the week. Very excited!

I am truly happy for you, but I was not so lucky. I was online right at 8:01 a.m. and couldn't get a value studio at AKV for 12/5 - 12/12. You probably got the last/only reservation.

I know to keep watching though. I'm pretty sure a few members are walking their reservations so availability might open soon. At least, one can hope. I'm about to give up on going during this time of year. It has become so stressful . . .

Well, I'm actually pretty shocked. 12/5 and 12/6 were not available all day which meant tomorrow I was already blocked. Just for grins I checked again right now . . . and the entire week 12/5 - 12/12 was available for a value studio and I grabbed it. Yay for all of us!!!

I was in this situation when I booked for my trip last December. I waitlisted right away and it came through two days later. I definitely think people are walking reservations for this time of year, especially for the value cat. Congrats to everyone!

OH MY! Thats awesome!!!! Congrats!!! I'm already second guessing my trip this May- its double the points for a studio split stay in Kidani and BLT. If a value were available I may be tempted to switch..... Must stay focused on original plan of trying out all the DVC resorts....

Thanks!!! Sounds like we travel at the same time. We do our family vacation in late May/early June. We have stayed at AKV in a value studio several times and my DS asked to stay anywhere but AKV this time.

My second favorite resort is Boardwalk so that is where we are staying for now - hopefully standard view studio. But, then I second guess and think BLT is pretty cool, but so expensive on points. It's a fun psychological game we play.
