I was browsing the website today, and noticed they now have a page dedicated to DAK at Night, with all the new upcoming offerings, we're excited! I'm just sorry it's another 16 months before we'll be able to experience them. But there's going to be the Rivers of Light of course, the new Sunset safari, and two new dance parties. They both look good!

That said, from what I can tell, it does look like the trails, and most rides/attractions will be shut down after dark, because it only lists Safari, Kali and Everest available after sunset. So my guess is there'll be the 3 rides, the dance parties, and ROL available, and I would assume all dining and shopping options. Do you think that will be enough to keep people there at night?

We are excited too. As of now, we usually get to AK at opening and are gone by 1:00. Will need a new touring plan for our next trip.

Hopefully they will expand this and open more attractions eventually. AK is a half day park for us usually, so I am excited for some new things there.

I assume the Avatar stuff will be open at night once that is open. That would be the perfect time to experience it!. I think they are just going to start in a testing phase of the later hours and will expand as they go.

I'm excited about it too! AK has always been a very nice park, but it felt a little incomplete. It's going to be pretty great once it's finished.

Just a thought, but they could have only mentioned EE, Kali and KS because they are the 'big three' for that park. Listing all the other attractions would take up a lot of screen real-estate.

As excited as I am about all the new nighttime offerings at AK, I am really looking forward to Avatar land. While the boat ride through the phosphorescent forest will be dark all day long, the outdoor areas of Avatar land are supposed to have some of that phosphorescence at night. My sister and I have always wanted to go to Pandora!

I'm not sure only listing the Safari, Kali Rapids and EE as After Dark attractions means those are the only ones that will be open. My guess is they chose to just highlight those 3 in their marketing since they are currently the higher profile attractions. Pandora would likely be a lock to be open come 2017 and I expect Dinoland USA and Dinosaur will stay open. They may even extend showtimes for The Lion King and Nemo shows.

Of the things that will likely be closed, my guess is the 2 walking trails in Africa and Asia and Flights of Wonder.

Maybe, but I didn't get that impression, as the way they listed it was "Daytime Classics Available After Dark". If all the rides were going to be open, there wouldn't really be any point in making a special note of what's available.

I don't think I will get excited until Avatar land is closer to opening. Currently, I don't think it's enough to keep people there at night. For a short trip this April, even if ROL is open, I'm choosing Symphony in the Stars. I still like AK, but as a 1/3-1/2 day park.

Maybe, a nice plan might be to see ROL then go to AK Lodge for a late dinner at Boma. Followed by some night vision google viewing (always fun, even if there is not much to look at).

The daytime classics after dark were highlights of offerings. For in those they talked about the new nighttime safaris, a lighted Kali river Rapids, and Everest. Everest is said to be amazing at night so that's why I think they included it. I can't see them only having those things open at night, you would have capacity issues.

I can't find the page you're talking about above, and I've been hunting! Can you share a link?

EDITED TO ADD: Finally think I found it. Here?

I've been to ak a few times when it's dark and it's incredibly lovely.

I cannot wait.

The tree of life is supposed to have amazing projections.

We get a new, innovative nighttime show.

New features to an old ride with the nighttime safari.

2 new nighttime dance parties/entertainment.

A new signature restaurant.

And eventually a whole new land that should be amazing at night: Pandora.

I agree with other posters. I think tough to be a bug will be open. All of dinoland should be open. Fotlk and nemo should have later night shows. EE will be open. I'm actually surprised Kali will stay open. Wonder if they'll tone down the water.

I'm more excited about this than I have been about anything disney has done in a long time, way more excited than I was for new Fantasyland.

When I did GRR (Grizzly River Rapids At DCA) at night, I thought it was better than Kali, so I don't think it needs to be toned down.
