We had dinner last night at Napa Rose chef's counter and watched chef Sutton creating new dishes for the Cathay Circle restaurant at DCA. So glad to see they are using expert chefs to create the new restaurant. We saw him trying stuffed cheddar biscuits. Yum!

Also heard about a new members-only lounge (ala Club 33) called 1901 Lounge. It will be designed in the theme of Walt's studio office.

Trader Sam's was great. The lettuce wraps were awesome (ask for the sirachi hot sauce). Hope they make similar changes at the Poly.

Great trip! Can't wait for Cars Land.

Also excited about the new restaurant and can hopefully get in in August.

John Lasseter was at Napa Rose last night. Probably checking in on Cars Land. I heard he was heading over to WOC. I wonder where the VIP's view WOC.

There is a VIP section roped off in the back for VIPs. In fact, my favorite viewing spot is just to left of that area. :)

I've been hoping we can get in to the new restaurant too in July. I've been wondering when they are going to open it up for reservations and I'm wondering if it will book up fast because everyone wants to try it.

I wonder when the new menu will be published. We so want to go in August!

I would love to get into the 1901, but not being a member sometimes difficult at best.

I still have Club 33 on my bucket list, Jack! :thumbsup2

I've been excited about this experience ever since I read this....

Ordering a cocktail at the Carthay Circle lounge this summer means the customer will be presented with a choice of not just top shelf liquor in gleaming Carthay Circle barware, but also with an ice-cube menu (perfectly squared, round, shaved, or chipped?), various artisanal bitters and mixers made with organic herbs and spices, and finished with small batches of stuffed gourmet olives trucked in regularly from Santa Barbara. If you want an appetizer to go with that hand-crafted artisanal martini, you’ll be choosing from trendy dishes like a Korean roast duckling kimchee plate, or more typical fare like Kobe’ beef sliders a la’ Morton’s. And that’s just downstairs in the public bar.

Sounds incredible!

So far a very nice day here in the Tri-Cities, a bit cool. I can not wait to see how things shape up, it will be exciting in August Disney time.

This is from my post in the CL/BVS thread regarding the Carthay Circle Restaurant.

We are just a few days from the two month mark, when dining reservations can be made. So we may hear more very soon, or they may hold off making reservations, for a while since it's a new location.

ETA: Today in a post about making reservations by email, Disney stated the Carthay Circle Restaurant will open on the 15th of June. It also mentioned that reservations are not availabl at this time, but suggest when they are it will be announce on the Disney Parks Blog and twitter. Hopefully this means more news coming out soon about this dining location.

Yes, we just returned from having lunch by the river. It's a pretty day.

We have never been to DL without some attractions being in refurb. It's the price we pay for small crowds. HM has been closed during our last two trips alone! Can't wait to return. :goodvibes

Anyone hear anything about making reservations at Carthay yet?

Nope, but I can't wait to check it out. I'm hoping that we will be able to have the big birthday dinner there and see the fireworks!

Our 60 day out reservation time is near the end of May, before they even open. I wonder if they will be taking them by then.
